Thank you for coming to Potenza ❤️ having lived there most of my life I must add that the centre really comes alive at night, since there are many little pubs and places to spend time with your friends and grab something to eat or drink. Unfortunately, many shops are closed and open to rent due to some unlucky choices made during the years that led people to leave the centre and open businesses in other areas of the town (where e.g. parking is easier). What Enzo said is true, Potenza is a town that has expanded dramatically during the years and not always wisely, so today roads and links between the various neighbourhoods are a mess. It really could be a hidden gem if only we took better care of it. Also, little fun side note: we call the little size pizza "pizzetta" 😄🍕

Hello; Potenza is the capital city of Basilicata. Fair large city. From there you can drive to other cities-towns of the region. A must see..

My great grandfather was from there, he migrated as a child with his parents to Argentina as many people from Italy, is interesting to see the city but I guess that it has changed a lot compared to the potenza 120 or 130 years ago, specially with two wars in between. thank you for the video.

Another great video.. It’s good to see these smaller towns rather than just the usual large touristy type cities.. Let’s hope places like Potenza can come alive again like many other places in Italy have over recent years.. Really enjoyed your time with Enzo too.. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure 🇮🇹🇦🇺

My grandparents on my mother's side came to the US n the early 1900's from a town called Vietri di Potenza, about 30 km wes of Potenza. Beautiful nature , but one of the poorest regions in Italy. Earthquake prone as well. I can understand why they left. A very strong and resilient people. I'm grateful for that inheritance and for my appreciation of good food!

Potenza isn't exactly "poor" btw. It's the richest province in southern Italy in terms of GDP Per Capita, being very in line with Central Italy in that regard. Unlike other provincies in the region, the Mafia is also not present, It's very safe. However, It's very small and composed of numerous very small villages, so not much for the younger generation.

Hello ! It was a sympathetic visit of Potenza in a natural way...I liked it and it makes easier meeting with people as your new friend Enzo. I like also to speak to people in Italia for they are very spontaneous people and it makes you feel confortable to speak a foreign langage for me even if I make mistakes ! In November my husband and I sat on a bench in Sicily and an old lady came and we spoke together, some years ago it was with the young waitress in a cafe who learned French etc...Sorry for the closures of the stores, but even in Paris many clothes store had closed since covid and new food stores have opened at the same places...thank you for sharing your beautiful videos. Hello from Paris ❤

Salve' . probably not the best time of year, nor the greatest weather, to visit. Makes it a little extra depression.😢 But I was so happy to see Enzon put a smile back-to-your face. As well as the odd shaped pizza. And your rare find of a Fascist eara building & colonnade, put a smile on my face. Thank you!

When you started your video with exclamations such as it's beautiful, charming, I thought it would be one of those many videos made by budding influencers who hope to be hired by tourist offices to talk about their region in rave and often false terms. Fortunately, you quickly came to your senses. I am a travel photographer who has been touring Italy since Christmas 2022. I currently live in Basilicata, about thirty kilometers from Potenza, the city. Once or twice a week, I go to Potenza, at “passeggiata” time, to enjoy an ice cream while leisurely walking up the main street. I pass by your pizza maker, but have never ordered a pizza. It will come, because yours made me hungry. I have never met Enzo yet. I hope to meet him one day, even if our political views are diametrically opposed. It is difficult to find a resident in this region who speaks English or French. Without wishing to offend anyone in the city, Potenza is not intended to be touristy. It has few attractions, other than the main pedestrian street, and it is very difficult to park there. And that’s why I always park two kilometers from the center. The long, steep road allows me to get some exercise. If you are in the region, I recommend Matera, Gravina in Puglia, Craco the ghost town and if you like Street Art, Satriano di Lucana and Sant’Angelo Le Fratte. If you like the seaside, I particularly liked Polignano a Mare (in Puglia). This said, I love Italy and its inhabitants ❤. Photos of the area to come soon on my Instagram account.

These are tags, short signatures done by kids and young teenagers wanting recognition, not the sort of graffiti we can apparent to Street Art. It’s worth knowing the difference between vandalism/degradation/defacing and Street Art
