Then again, there's the secondary fire to take into account here, but I don't think a, say, 5 to 10% damage increase would make it unbalanced

Man I remember when they added the Short Circuit. It might have been OP in terms of projectile deletion but it was fun to use in CQC (even against hitscan classes). I miffed an entire DM server once to the point that they banned the weapon.

They should probably split the weapon into 2 weapon. The energy ball is it own weapon, while changing the primary fire into something useable. Like when you fire, you shot out a short burst of energy that cost 20-30 metal and last for 1s while expanding out like a cone with a 2-3s delay after every shot.
