I feel like ‘aa jaave dil tera, poora bhi na hove” that line is a curse, but not to the lover, but rather to the world that tries to separate lovers. I'm so happy that someone decided to do this. I'm a huge Ali Seti fan gatekeeping him for years until this song really accelerated his name among the larger section of music lovers. I also had to struggle a lot to understand the meaning of the song and I agree with your interpretation. However, there is another fun fact about this that makes it so special and thoughtful and makes you understand the activism and the messaging of the song. The word 'Pasoori' appears only twice in the songs, at the beginning and at the end. If you listen carefully you will notice a difference in the pronunciation, once as Pasoori (R sound) and the other Pasoodi (da sound). This reflects the linguistics of the accents of a language spread across a large geographic area with diverse demographics. Once again, thank you for making this video.

Even the video's set (an open place for collective communication) is a traditional village set up from pre independence and pre colonial india. the open-endedness makes more sense :) queerness at its core is about non-conformism, breaking free of the binary and other social structures, and art goes hand-in-hand with this idea several times by making art that is also about being queer, i think its meaning will never be defined in a clean explanation, (although i appreciate yours very much and think it elevates my understanding of the song)

Opinion to the point raised at 10:10 In my opinion it has two motives: 1) the lady at the left is seen wearing sneakers under the sareee.. again breaking the stereotype. 2) Sarees has always been a source of unification between two communities. In every auspicious events sarees are exchanged. and its the moment when a woman enjoys any festival (talking about 70-80s setup). So his piya (here arrival of his piya is an auspicious event) might bring sarees for her from india and she is searching in the magazine and fantasizing about the saree he ll bring.

So the story i that lovers are not able to meet together , or even if they meet , they cant say anything to each other maybe because of differences or maybe due to "Majbooriyan". The more they try to meet each other , the more desperate and restless they become but they can't but due to "Majbooriyan" and differences . They grow more restless day by day unable to focus on their work and life and hence it becomes a curse. This is my little half baked observation😅😅. Hope you understood what I wanted to say. I always appreciated your work..your aspects... basically YOU!...and as always this was sharp and magical...never realised that pasoori can be this deep and so historical... Apart from everything...the thumbnail...the visualisation.. everything was on top notch..love it...keep going keep hustling... It was attractive🔥💗🧿

I have sitting for so long , trying to articulate an apt response to your comment but of no use! You have put this out so well, with so much emotion that it is hard for me to tell you what it means for me. Thanks for being a constant on the channel Kumkum! Let's travel this together..

Brilliant video! Made us wait but worth it. The best part about the song is the divine justice that has been served by destiny that it eventually ended up crossing borders without anyone actually understanding the lyrics, when the lyrics were asking for just that to happen. I think you deserve more Pakistani subscribers now. :) All the best to this chapter of your life of a full time youtuber!

I am thankful even before finishing the whole video. I love deep philosophical, metaphorical and meaningful type of lyrics and always knew Pasoori has something in it which I am not actually understanding. * Update after finishing the whole video : superb 👏👏

I would like to point out the outfit that Ali was wearing symbolises a lot of stuff - It was not tight symbolising openness , freedom; saffronish in colour and Islamic in design symbolising religious harmony.

I strongly believe that it's high time we need to join hands .....and let the world see our growth together with awe..... There might be differences of opinion, there might be differences in culture and so many more differences but the no one can deny the fact that WE ARE ONE AND THE SAME...our hearts are connected.... spreading this word of unity should surely start from our neighbours who are actually our brothers and sisters....it's high time that the people of both the countries decide their own future ... though our past have been bloody, but didn't both the side lose in the conflict....and for the betterment of the subcontinent and their people we should have common grounds for business, education arrt, cricket..... Lastly how can we forget , brothers can't be enemies...love from Kolkata....I strongly believe we are meant to be together
