Hawk has a nest nearby. Stay away for 2-3 weeks and they’ll go away.

same thing with red shouldered hawks here in Indiana -- if you get near one of their fledglings (but don't know it) you will get bonked -- happened to my wife

when raptors attack humans it's almost always because a human has done something to them or their nests... they aren't stupid... once they see humans as a threat they will attack other humans.

Warning signs are posted where hawks have nests, they aren’t just attacking people for nothing,it’s their nature to protect their nests

Well, blue jays do this too, but blue jays hold a grudge too. Not to mention they are usually mean to the other birds. I’ve had a few that weren’t at my feeders though.

The hawk is mad she tried deceiving him with a fake owl. Hawk: don't play games with me.

Hey, in AZ we use the fake owls too. But I use the to keep eagles and big owls from stealing and flying away with my small dog. 😂 I’m a MN native who had lived in AZ to long, all that green blinded me.

"Forces the bird to live closer to humans" Absolute nonsense. Birds of prey thrive in cities. There's a reason New York is full of falcons.

They are just protecting their babies. Can’t blame them. They instinctively know that humans are not to be trusted.

Every spring i have random birds do the same thing to me while I'm working on stuff and being noisy. I guess I'm disturbing naptime for their babies. Lol I just laugh and shrug it off but try to stay a little on guard for the next swoop. 😂

Sad that the hawk is protecting its young and then is made a villain by people who have encroached into habitat. Idk who is worse here - the people who cry victim or the reporter who sensationalized a hawk protecting its young. Either way shame on them both.

I suggest people watch Robert E. Fuller on YT__a wildlife artist and photographer. He documents the lives of birds of prey and other animals near his home in England. You will learn how fierce these birds can be in defence of their young. Meaning, in the cases of these hawks 'dive bombing' people, it's because they feel their nests are being threatened! In that one scenario it looked as though a tree in the person's yard was recently cut down__which would definitely put the hawk on alert! Those 'scratches' were assuredly a warning__if it were anything but, they would have been much deeper with a trip to the ER! 😛

yes one would care when its your living space and nearby persons are attacked with broken bleedig skin and you spend the summer sheltering in or walking around with umbrellas and helmets due to this... also its unknown what organisms are on those claws. my elderly neighbor needed stitches. i was injured. thank goodness no children have been...yet. come to find out our neighborhood has been dealing with this for 10-12yrs pls rethink your thoughts on this.

@@Barnabas45 oh my goodness... why say that..there should be no politics linked to this situation...or is there?.. i have spent hours over the last month in the dark hole of bureaucracy trying to get help to get this managed with no resolve... state to federal agencies to local-calling all the places they tell me to contact -nothing done yet...we're still needing to be on the defensive when outdoors and summer is soon gone.
