@ Amorkor Amar Ministers and governments of all persuasions over the years have ignored the problems in our big cities and instead have their hearts fixed on the polls. We cannot allow the impunity and aloofness to continue for too much longer if we are to achieve our goal of becoming the gateway to west Africa. Accra to me is dirty hole !

@@stanleyglover5534 And ur point is? Yes Accra and most of Ghana has been ignored by the Government until as u say, they are running for election. I totally agree but it doesn't change the fact tbat I like the Hon Henry Quartey who is attempting to change things within Accra. He is only one person, and it will take all of us to do out little bit to change things. At least he is trying which is more than I can say for others. The congestion means demand for selling space exceeds available space in the markets. It should be a revenue making opportunity for the authority instead of seeing it as a menace. The authority must build additional markets elsewhere to accommodate the excess traders. Otherwise, You'll move them from Kantamanto only for them to go and occupy makola or Rawlings park to congest the place. History shows us how others took this same action in the past but didn't succeed because the approach was not a feasible solution. Just as we spend money to construct roads to facilitate mobility, the same money must be spent to construct markets to create avenue for livelihood for people and revenue stream for government through proper management.

Why are Ghanaians contractors still building OPEN GUTTERS by the sides of newly built roads???...something is fundamentally wrong with Ghanaian contractors building these open gutters, OPEN GUTTERS should not be allowed anywhere else again in Ghana. This is disgraceful and unpatriotic to continue with the colonial legacy.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
@gmog7857
@gmog7857 3 жыл бұрын
@S E P No it has nothing to do with taxes, it has more to do with the government. If the government wants a road in a certain way, they get funding elsewhere for it and invite contractors to bid for that vision. So in a way, the blame has to go to the government, if they want a road with a properly covered drainage system then that is what they should invite bids for but this is ridiculous. Akuffo Addo was asked that question and he lied to the reporter that there are no uncovered gutters being built any more in Ghana, that is what that liar said.

Nana Addo and his should not allow any Ghanaian to use vote as intimidation, after all despite the free SHS, free water and electricity look at how they voted. Rawlings in his time did not do such thing but was very strict and won all the election he stood. Laws must be enforced 100%.The era 'we won't vote' is over , they can do their worst.

I have been worried about this for time Accra and Kumasi and most regions in Ghana is embarrassing when people think or visitors that Ghana is so hungry excuse me to say hawkers every where then children suppose to go to school very young children teen agers students are hawking on the street their youth been wasted by weak parents or parents having too much children can't manage they should be dealt with those parents according to law all their children's must be educated.Education very important if educate these children there wil be less crime. Most children are hawkers can't read it write will be taken advantage of after hawking they will be entertaining themselves getting anybody pleasureble the babies. Even getting rid of them loosing their life the wages of sin is death the gift of God. Internal life people in government need to get wisdom in all areas to govern the country. Get rid of those children who are hawkers be on the streets their parents need to be visited social warefare even the police. They should go to school Hawking for adults. Children must be children. Proverbs 4v7 get wisdom is a principal thing get wisdom. Go to school children be knowledgeable. The minister happy about this decision do more and act now.

As it should be. Sometimes I wonder what the Greater Accra Ministry stands for? Accra is Dirty and congested at the same time and this needs to change drastically and soon. Always giving in to political pressures and I say this because both polictical parties do this. We really need a change of reality. Where politicians do the needed and not only things for vote. Prosecute whoever buys from a moving car as well as the hawkers and all these may be curbed.

Create more jobs to solve this problems . Ghana government Our Excellency Nana Akufo-addo please revamp Ghana postal services to create more jobs for the people. We are still waiting to see your working railways system that too would bring a lot of jobs. I saw you visiting cloth manufacturing factory before the election please build more units ( factories, ) and encourage more people to take up the trade. Ghana we are only 30 million people and even the working populations would be lesser. Get going working so that people could pay taxes to help to build the economy.

This is not "if persuasion fails force must be applied" matter. If they're not willing to move into the market but are willing to sell in the prime perimeters of the markets let them pay high daily taxes compared to those trading inside the market, simpliciter. This will even give the assembly more money for their dream projects.
