I know it's bit subjective, but what's your overall recommendation with respect to 2022 Civic Touring Vs Insight Touring? Have you done a comparison video?

They are both great choices but depending on if MPG’s is something to factor? Otherwise if you want more luxury Insight, more sporty styling inside, the New Civic. Ride will be better in the Insight but louder with engine noise. The Civic is quite feels more like an Accord.

The loud engine noise during acceleration is because of the eCVT. It's common in the Accord Hybrid, CR-V hybrid, Rav4 hybrid. Elantra/ Sonata is somewhat quieter due to their use of a tradtional automatic transmission.

Great review Hawkeye Rides! Really disappointed Honda did not include wireless charging, rear vents, and rear charging points (especially on the touring trim level). In addition, the hood “bounced” a lot during my test drive as it is really light. Agree with your comments on the loud engine roar during any acceleration or general highway driving. For a clarifying point, there is no spare tire just a fix-a-flat kit (the dealership I was working with quoted $595 if I wanted to order a spare tire kit w/tools. From Iowa, go Hawkeyes!

The hood bounce bothers me as well and very little in upgrades with the new model.

The big problem is the small engines and light weight material, this adds to extra vibrations and nothing to hold it from a bouncing at high speeds and lower speeds you can notice it too. Great vehicles with room to make it better.

You are going to love your new car. I have the 2021 Insight touring and I currently get 44mpg after 12k miles, driving highway and city. I could be easier on the gas pedal for better numbers but I think $25 dollars a fill up once a week is fine for now. I drive about 50 miles daily.

@@awnzotheman i was averaging 41-43 mpg but i'm sure i could better if wasn't trying to keep up with traffic. Unfortunately i traded this car in for a 2022 honda civic hatchback. I The civic gets terrible gas mileage (33 mpg) so i gave the car to my daughter. now have a 2023 VW Toas which only gets 24 mpg but it's great in the snow with it's all wheel drive system.

Currently own a 21 Insight Touring. Most of my driving is my 32 mile round trip commute to work with a 45mph and occasional stop and go traffic. Over a year's worth of driving in central N.C. my mpg is 56.5 from June 2023 to June 2024. It is a great car as a commuter.

Consumer Reports was mentioning when the engine kicks it that its pretty noticeable (they called it "startling" and loud). Did you notice that at all? Also, would you mind saying how tall you are? I'm 6' 3" and always trying to figure out from video reviews the legroom situation in a car. Thanks.

I was disappointed that they took away adjustable lumbar support. Yes, the E V mode is nearly unusable. That said, the mileage is still incredible!❤️

I have the chance to get an Insight Touring or an Accord sport hybrid. I haven't gotten the chance to drive the Insight, but I worry about road noise and Civic quality compared to that of Accord will not be as good. What would you recommend?

Both are great vehicles and road noise unless you get the Touring Accord it is about the same.MPG’s the Insight is awesome, I guess if size isn’t a problem, I would do the Insight 👍🏻

@@davileett1224 that is true but the big difference is really is the back seat if you need more space Accord otherwise this is a great option. The front seats have a good amount of space.

those "paddle shifters" you're clicking isn't for the CVT. They control the aggressiveness of the regen braking.

Your welcome, power is good, the only problem I have is when you give it gas the engine will become load, it’s a small engine. You can filter out most of that with the sound system, space is good and filled up with people it still performs. It’s not going to be sports car fast but it’s faster than a Civic a little slower than an Accord.

The touring trim doesn’t get 55mpg. It gets 51mpg city, 45mpg hwy.

@@HawkeyeRides It looks like you were misinformed. It doesn’t have wireless Apple car play. Those aren’t paddle shifters behind the wheel as well. They are for selecting from 3 levels of regenerative braking.

It can be a lot of different things including how hard you push the pedal. Maybe try a different gas station, drive softer or do a induction cleaning 👍🏻

@@HawkeyeRides i always go to chevron and started driving slower to never really go past the blue line. I have never used the regen shifter, how do they work? I got the car 3 months, would I still need an induction cleaning? What is that?

@@albertotorres7746 if you are under 15k miles I wouldn’t do anything crazy. That cleans out the fuel injectors, throttle bodies. Try the pedal shifter when you slow down, maybe a air filter, sounds like the gas is good. You could also take it back to the dealership, see what they say to work out any problems. I would also watch it the next couple fills to see if anything has improved with the use of the pedal shifter and driving softer.

From what I have seen, if you buy it new, they are good. If you buy it pre-owned try to get low miles so you can keep the services up to date. I’ve ran into a few friends that have had them over 120k and they said they are great vehicles.
