HAWORTH | Home of the Brontë Sisters | a gentle walk around a beautiful Yorkshire village

Welcome, or welcome back, to Wanderlust Walks! Thank you for being here.
Today we are exploring the iconic Yorkshire village, Haworth. Famously known as the home of the Brontë family, Haworth is largely a product of the 19th century. The Brontë Parsonage Museum (the former family home turned museum) is a must-visit for literature enthusiasts. Haworth was first mentioned in 1209, and its name origin has various interpretations. One possible interpretation of this word is “hedged enclosure” or “hawthorn enclosure.” The earliest mention of ‘Haworth’ on record dates back to 1771. Our walk around Haworth was so lovely, and we hope that you enjoy it, too!

I loved visiting Haworth when I lived in Bradford. Thank you for this video! My great great grandfather lived there “Charles Babbage” he’s the man who invented the mechanical computer. It’s my claim to fame. It’s so beautiful there! ❤

@@WanderlustWalks I’ve shared it with my family so they can watch it too. There are some really pretty villages in Yorkshire ❤️ it’s nice to see that most of the same shops are still in Haworth. Last time I was there in 2011.

Thank you very much for the kind comment! It was filmed at about 7am on a midweek morning, so there wasn’t many people around besides a couple of locals (just people setting up their shops or walking their dogs, etc.) I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
