That meal was awesome, and the price was pretty fantastic for a giant prawn and steak, as well as bread, endive salad, and dessert. The “mood” lighting was a nice change, so don’t fret that you didn’t bring extra lights. Glad you treated yourself with a nicer meal than you normally would have eaten…treats are necessary every now and again.

When I saw the preparation, presentation and quality of the meal I have to agree that $65.00 is an excellent price. I thought the lighting adjustment of your camera was just fine. Looking forward to part 3 of your Rampart meals.

Yes, I'm aware of endives. It's grown in California, where I live. A very popular potluck appetizer in the 90s (non-fancy gatherings). Home cooks used endives to scoop mayo-based salads, hummus, homemade dips, etc. Like a veggie taco or edible "boat". Endives are man-made (cross cultivation), like broccoli. I agree with @SteveCraps (Eat more veggies). Those edible flowers are called pansies, native to California. It was hippie food, now a fine dining item. You're correct, that broccoli was likely broccolini (longer stem). Glad you had a great meal!

Nice water fall. $65.00 for 3 course dinner. Endive salad another name for a different type of salad 🥗. 3 types of bread 👍. See the cold tap water…lol. Eatable flowers, fancy salad. Correct choice of salad fork, 👍. Dinner presentation looked great! But, wife would freak out due to the head on the pawn 😂. Don’t be flashing that $100 bill around. That pawn 🍤 is huge! Filet really looked delicious and cooked as ordered. Keep up the videos DTM 👍💯

Yes, endive is a bitter green lettuce. Can be white or yellow or purple. The lighter colored endive is prized over darker ones but, to produce those, the plant must be covered by soil to prevent sunlight from reaching it. Classic French cuisine.

surprised you did not say the endive was a little bitter. First time I had it I took my girlfriend to a fancy place she wanted to try in San Francisco and I asked the same thing and pronounced it like you and your waiter but my waiter had to be snooty and corrected me with his french pronunciation on-deeve. Like white asparagus, golden endive is grown in dark places to prevent chlorophyll production. I find it a little bitter, but the food looks good. Tipping should be 20% at a sit-down dinner. Nice video.

Joe from California here, endive (pronounced "an-deeve" because it's French) is a somewhat bitter salad from the chicory herb. The cheese is pronounced "em-en-tall-er." Was that meal worth $65.00? That meal seems pricey if the quality is not there.
