It's rather simple. Westworld is much older than the show. The show has a bit of mix in it from more modern theories which debatably believe or rather try to explain a form of consciousness is, or in spiritual context what soul is. Now i believe what makes it confusing is that we see everyone in the show as humans and we forget that they are machines, it makes us guess. If we where to replace every host with something resembling variations of Robocop or T100 the tv show would become a comedy and funny to watch machines that want to be and act like humans.

I believe the real significance to the first encounter between William and Dolores is that William gets to personally see a host, far outside her loop, starting to gain consciousness. Since William didn't really understand what he was witnessing, when Dolores was killed, her memories were wiped, and put back into her loop, William concluded it was all a trick to make the park seem more real, which started his 30 year journey to find that realism again.

Ive been waiting to start season 3 so i can binge a good part of it, so this morning I started on episode 1 but wasn't able to watch it today. This is by far one of the most comprehensive, well mapped out chronological timelines of seasons 1 and 2. Thank you! One thing that still puzzles me is why Ford made Clementine kill Bernard. Bernard is a host, built in the image of his best friend Arnold. If Ford intended to set all the hosts free, allow them free will to choose their own paths, then killing Bernard went against that very objective. If he didn’t want Bernard to get in his way, he could have easily freeze him right then. And in the aftermath, Bernard would have to choose his path. Killing him was just too drastic a move.

Once the show “Lost” was complete, a fan project did that exactly. Unfortunately, copyright takedowns, lawsuits against people using torrents to share the massive files, and other similar shenanigans mostly negated the thousands of hours that the fans put into recutting the show. I'm not much into tv shows as I just don't have the time or whatever I sci-fi show watch gets cancelled after Season 1 except the shows pre 2000 so I kind of waited too long for this one just to be sure it will get at least 2 seasons, haha. So here I am in January 2021 and just finished season 2 and I don't understand the hate on it. Everyone praises only Season 1 while there is no doubt is unique however season 2 really got me hooked and no doubt it has the best moments of the entire show for me.
