the mother-daughter moment was very emotional. remember when Emily told William that she threw the music box to the garbage and then she felt guilty and went to get it back but it was no longer there (because she thought the garbage was taken away). but then we see Juliet still having the music box in her drawer. that means Juliet took the music box back from the garbage and kept it for her daughter. Juliet's story was very sad and emotional and I almost cried when seeing she still had the music box. actually the music box is the symbol of mother love for Emily.

Hax, rewatching episodes and noticed something. When Juliet puts the card in the jewellery box, the mirror on the desk is a silver, antique-y hand held mirror to the bottom left of the screen. This season, in the previews, we see Dolores hold what looks like the same hand held mirror up at Charlotte. I don’t have the software to go frame by frame, but thought it might interest you :)

How do you come to this conclusion? Mom: The song during the robbery was “Paint it Black.” Me: That’s because the same song was played when the Mariposa was robbed in season 1 of Westworld. This is showing that the Shogun storyline is the same as Hector and Armistice from Westworld. And William is the Man in Black. Mom: OHHHH. Which one is William? I feel like a lot of people are overlooking the Slaughterhouse Five significance. The basic plot summarizes Westworld. The story is told in a nonlinear order, and events become clear through flashbacks (or time travel experiences) from the unreliable narrator...named "Billy".
@viktoria74676 жыл бұрын
I totally agree! Another interesting moment is that full name of the main character is Billy Pilgrim and Juliet calls William's trips to Westworld 'yearly pilgrimage'

im pretty sure no ones overlooking the significance of slaughterV, it was very on the nose displayed in the show and has been briught up in all review videos including this one. Lots of shows that take ideas from novels will slip said books within their scenes. Aside from similiar time jumping and a same name what are you considering significant?

I literally checked your uploads maybe a minute before you uploaded this! Great vid. However, at the beginning, William wasn't looking down as if he was feeling the failure of bringing James Delos back. At this point in time, he was still actively pursuing that reality. It wasn't until after his wife's suicide that he decided to give up. However, no big flaws here. Just a little point. He was probably feeling the same sort of emotions about the experiments though. Knowing they were going to fail again and again.

I believe the dilapidated house/barn is the age old symbol of the relationship between Dolores and Teddy. Houses are huge literary symbols. I'm still doing some opinion forming on the symbolism of the books that William has in the bedroom - the Plutarch is obviously a reference to the party- but the ficton books all deal with an obsessive, self destructive, paranoid psychological breakdown and in the case of Moby Dick and Jude the Obscure - the tragic effects these traits have on other characters within the stories.

The bath was filmed in a way that you assume she cut her wrists ... the tablets were just to 'make sure' ... whenever suicide bath scenes feature an arm 'draped' over the side, that's basically a subtle way of saying wrist cutting was involved even if you can't see it.

What turned William "on" so to speak was Delores' search for consciousness her search for her desire for experience and expansiveness, "where the mountains meet the sea" was what William wanted for himself and when he lost that he blamed Ford. Whatever trying he did to give himself direction after that failed. Now he thinks that Ford is manipulating some version of his "profile" in a host body and he is determined to destroy that possibility. He is still trying to recover William. The problem is that he can't embrace his experience of non existence and this is key to all the host's awakening. Delores woke up to the fact that she isn't in control that she is learning from loops of code that swing her from the rancher's Daughter to Wyatt. She is trying on so to speak variations of that code to learn a path out of the park. Delores' cornerstone was the search for Mate, first Teddy then then William and the suffering caused by the betrayal of that over and over with both of them. Again Delores' main experience is one of non existence. Maeve was coded to have acceptance for the experience of non existence as Ford said she most closely mirrored his own world view so she was most suited for escape because relationship was not supposed to override her need for freedom. But she "chose" her previous cornerstone her relationship which has again led her to the experience of non existence. The Bernard/Arnold host is going through the same unanchoring of all that was his cornerstone forever asking the question "what do I exist as?" I think that the last episode will have to answer the question of how all the hosts and or hosts hybrid deal with the experience of non existence the inherent suffering of that. The MIB will have to come to terms with what HE chose to direct himself with not with what he believed Ford is responsible for. Delores will have to come to terms with the problem of non relationship and being in the position that Ford occupied as to how to determine the hosts future without destroying them as she did Teddy or just existing with their predetermined loops waiting and hoping for their awakening. Or she will have to choose a human relationship. Maeve is becoming the host's white Knight with her relationship as Mother being expanded to include all of them. She is not invested in Mate she is invested as Mother so she will have a deciding action to determine their existence and perhaps be happy with her role in that. I'm still not sure what Delores' weapon is agains humanity unless her holding how they experience their hybrid is the key to that. I think Emily was a hybrid as we saw there is a Logan and I think there maybe multiple copies which brings us back to the MIB. He wants his profile erased, he is tired of his "revenge" hate loop as he believes that it is what Ford is imprisoning him with. Perhaps at some point he underwent something similar to Bernard but it only included him being a villain and he wants that over. I thought that he and Delores would come to some kind of understanding since they have both made the mistake of acting out revenge which as Maeve says is just another loop that can be used by Ford. I guess that could still happen but I will be very surprised to see how they would write it. Its more likely that William will appear not in the Loop of the MIB and the MIB will be forgiveable because he was in a "profiled" loop of hybrid experience that he couldn't overwrite. If he can see that then he can forgive himself and perhaps understand the value of his villainy towards the hosts but towards his family? Even if Emily is a hybrid he still has rescue problems if he has a daughter out there that he has fled and a dead wife that he is responsible for torturing. So hmmm...... Any ideas about that?

Another excellent breakdown! Two things: The encounter between Dolores and the Ghost Nation is also featured in the first part of the first episode of the season, when Strand and Bernard are examining the battlefield after the fact. And it gives away to tentatively benchmark time in some of the scenes, as them looking over the scene happens 11 days after the encounter took place. Do we know for sure that the people with Charlotte, Maeve etc are in fact Delos?

That explanation honestly makes the most sense on how all of a sudden he commits suicide. If Maeve could control Teddy, could Maeve control Dolores? This episode was honestly insane. Personally, I think that Ford is still inside Bernard but he's just lying dormant in a way. Thank you for the breakdown!!!!
@KristenNicoleYT6 жыл бұрын
Also I believe that what William meant when he said he took issue with his judgement because the stakes weren’t real until now was that he had realized the project was not truly capturing who people really are because who you are is not simply the person you are when you think nothing matters and nobody around you is real. The episode title references the convergence of two parallel lines into a single point, perhaps it references the convergence of the many sides there are to a single person given varying conditions, and in Bill’s case, the two sides to him: his Westworld self (the Man in Black) and who he is in the real world.

I think I figured one thing out... The host being created in Ford’s mini lab in season 1 was a copy of Grace, who MIB shot last week. What made me think that was, after the MIB told her about the hats being used to map their mind, she took hers off, looked at it, then put it back on anyway. If she truly hated the research project for what it was doing, she would not have put it back on. That’s why MIB knew she was a host. We’ll see tomorrow!

My Episode 10 Theory: Door = Door to Forge and/or Door to Satellite based Forge Passenger = Ford and Host Consciousness riding as passengers in the Forge There's no door to the physical world. Dolores has already stated that the Forge isn't an escape from the park. Abernathy is the key to a door--that door being the entrance to the Forge. They've said that the Forge is basically like the Matrix simulation where human consciousness of all the guests are kept. I think the final twist is that the hosts will get inside the Forge as their Ghost Nation afterlife. Dolores, the Deathbringer is trying to destroy it and the main reason Bernard needs to stop her. Delos has shown they will do anything to protect the data of the Forge and losing that data would be a giant investment loss. If all the hosts were to escape to the real physical world, they wouldn't know how to survive in the modern technological world and it would be easy for a massive corp like Delos to track each down and terminate them. On the other hand, if the hosts are able to get inside the Forge, in a manner that they can't be removed without destroying the integrity of the Forge itself, there's nothing Delos can do to them. (Ford tried to help Maeve escape alone--individually she could escape notice, but not an entire host population.) This ties to Logan's comment while getting high--"... the whole f*cking species starts to burn..." The Delos project is 2 parts: 1) living eternally inside the Forge, until 2) a host hybrid physical body is possible. But if the Forge looks and feels real, why bother getting a body and leaving? If you can't tell it's not real, does it matter you're in a simulation? Logan sees this is how it's going to eventually turn out--more humans will like the consequence free simulation, rather than get a new body and return to the real world--hence, end of the species. (Also, there's the added problem that we don't know what condition guest human consciousness exists in the Forge. Are they awake or are they on loops like the hosts were? How much free will do they have or has Delos inserted restrictive commands on the humans? The trailer image of James Delos shows him frozen.) I suspect Clementine will infect all of the hosts as Bernard and Dolores wander inside the Forge. Maeve, with her core permissions powers will mesh-network the hosts into the Forge to free them from the Clementine virus. William will die in the real world, but his Forge copy is continuously updated since he is always wearing the hat. He wakes in the Forge to a version Emily greeting him. He can't die in the Forge (no one can) so it leaves open how Emily can make him suffer more than Akecheta would have. (Also leaves open Season 3 interactions between young William and old William.) Season 3 can then take place in 2 different realities (the real world and the Forge), while also doing the multiple timelines thing. (They're going to fry my brain!!! LOL) Sky-Forge Twist: This one is an out there, add-on to the above story. The trailer shows a beam shooting to the sky, which would be a good visual representation of the Forge data/simulation being beamed to the satellite Charlotte Hale mentioned--to house the Forge in space (which is a trope for Sci Fi singularity). Possible Charlotte-Logan Twist: Charlotte Hale is working with Logan Delos & possibly his sister. Logan became a drug addict not from despair, but to inhibit Delos' brain scans. This leaves open a Season 3 plotline where Charlotte, Logan, Julie, and Emily are working not for a Delos competitor, but as essentially a rebel group trying to free the minds in the Forge from Delos' control. This plotline gives added dimension to Charlotte (no longer a mustache twirling corporate villian) and a giant arc to Logan (from glib rich boy, to drug addict, to freedom fighter). Season 3 could also show the human minds in the Delos Forge limited in their consciousness like the hosts pre-awakening, which would be a great reversal--and Akecheta could take it upon himself to lead them to consciousness as well.

I love that Ford's many literary allusions but one of the most significant ones to me so far was when he states "There's the origin of an entire species to consider." This seems to be a reference to On the Origin of Species by Darwin. My take is that Ford realizes that the host are evolving and they will precipitate a change in human development for better or worse - humanity will adapt, coexist and survive or die as the hosts also evolve into sentience.

It's one William inside the CRADLE and outside the CRADLE. He had a dislocated shoulder or broken arm after fighting Delores in the season one finale and gets shot by Clementine but he only has the gun shot wound.... Ford speaks to him while he is inside the CRADLE, running the simulation that Delores did with Bernard.

So Dolores wants to unleash Skynet upon the world! 😲 That strange device Bernard left Elsie with is the same as the “flare” Emily set off to call QA. It apparently glows red when activated. You see it on the ground near Emily.

Do you remember last week when Emily told Akechita that she wanted William to suffer. I can't help but think that his actions were set up by her in this episode.

In the discussion of what is in the Valley, a tool or a weapon I really like how the semantics was treated in the movie ''Arrival', that these two are basically the same thing. And what defines it as one or the other is the way you use it. Moreover, I love discussion around knowledge being either a tool or a weapon in different scenarios. I believe it only strengthens the theory of Dolores using this (yet unknown to us) knowledge to destroy humanity. Curious thing happened when Charlotte was watching Clementine test her new abilities, Charlotte checked the back of her neck. We also remember that in episode 3 when Delos team scanned her neck she was concerned with the result. She may have more mysteries than we think. Or not. And a quick note: the device Bernard gave Elsie was 'the Flare'. Williams asks Emily if she set it off in the beginning of the episode and then we see it lying around when William kills the rescue team. I'm not sure if it's going to be important just something I've noticed:) I also like how your theory about virus found itself into the series:)

When Juliet said she almost wished her father was there to see it, and William looked down, I took that as him thinking of the fact that, right then, as she was saying that, there was a host James Delos in the park that he was keeping secret. He didn't quit the experiment until after Juliet's suicide, so he hadn't failed yet. BTW: How did Juliet know anything about the profile? William didn't know that Ford was going to bring a profile of him to the function. And then how did Juliet know that he even had the profile, let alone that he had put it in one of those books? And then about getting the profile to Emily... there's an assumption that the music box is the one given to her when she was 16. I don't think it can be the same one - the earlier one had the ballerina in the center, and after she threw it away, Emily's conversation in no way indicates that she ever got it back. So it's probably a different music box. But that's not particularly relevant. More relevant... I'm guessing it still had to be Emily's music box, and that would seem to mean that Juliet viewed the profile in Emily's room, and put it in a music box in Emily's room. Emily says that Juliet left the profile for her. Why would she say that if Juliet had simply hidden the profile in a music box in her own bedroom desk drawer? Also, when William said, "Delos stays out of your stories, you stay out of the Valley," responding to Ford's bringing up William's "project"... I know everybody has been assuming it for most of the season, but is this the first time it's actually been directly confirmed that the location of William's project is the Valley?

Judging by the trailer, I think the forge can predict human behavior and its the "weapon" Dolores uses to defeat Delos and perhaps eradicate mankind later on. That would also explain why Bernard had a dejavu when he woke up on the beach in episode 2.01 He had already simulated that scenario

The stain William talks about in my opinion is what he felt when he saw Dolores in her loop after all they been thru, falling in love and he sees that Dolores doesnt even remember him broke his heart and thats the stain, how he started doing bad things cause he realized that the park was just a game, and becomes the villian like he says to Ford on Season 1. I dont think William's true goal is immortality thats more like Delos project, and he depends on Delos to keep the park going, in the end who knows hahaha. All i can say is the final episode is gonna be some mindfuckery inception type episode hahaha 👍👍

I don't think Super AI will be an issue. If it exists - it can probably solve any problem(such as immortality) and you don't need Ford or other engineers.

I've noticed that flies seem to appear at crucial moments of 'awakening' (like with Dolores and when she slapped the fly) - in this episode, I think it's intentional, a fly buzzes and lands on MIBs hat as he raises the gun to his temple. Thoughts? :)

"Williams dark passenger, like dexter" love that so much!!!! I have a question that no channel has covered or noticed. There is a donut looking thing on the ground when William is pushed to the ground by Emily. Then the next scene you see Benard dropping it, after they stop for the guns. What is it? What could it be? Great channel btw!

If Teddy killed himself, who was that floating in the water? I didn't see a gunshot wound in the head either. 🤔 Poor Teddy - idk if Delores ever truly loved him. 😔
@sarouan58116 жыл бұрын
I think she did love him, she wanted him to survive but she didn't realize that Teddy was happy in his loop and didn't want to be awake
@MrStabby198126 жыл бұрын
Sarouan it wasn’t that he was happy in his loop she made drastic changes to his personality. He was a super chilled nice guy not a blood thirsty murderer. The tech guy warned her as much a few episodes back that the changes were too big.
@sarouan58116 жыл бұрын
That's true but i think there's more of it cos he's awake now. When he says "Just takin' in the natural splendor, that's what you used to say. Except there isn't a trace of nature in any of it, is there? " that's heartbreaking cos he knows that there is no going back and his loop was just a dream. Well, that's what i feel when i watch this scene.

She probably was programmed to love him but once woke could care less much like hector and armistice once they realized someone just wrote they have to love eachother.

@@MrStabby19812 Right, she'd basically already killed him. She made such monumental changes to him that he was essentially an entirely different person.

Also, whatever happened to that virus that Bernard implanted in the hosts in the beginning of the season? We have yet to revisit that and I don't even remember what timeline it was on anymore. Is the virus in someway related to Clementine's new abilitities, or related to Bernard's claim that he was the one who killed all of the hosts floating in the water? I feel there is some significance here.

It isn't uncommon to take a bunch of blood thinners before cuttings ones wrists, also the warm water helps the blood flow.

it is however very uncommon for a healthy woman with super advanced medical care to have a bottle of blood thinners.

William is a host an he knows it! He healed himself with the same machine the techs use on the hosts (when there were no humans around), but when Emily healed him she used bandages and gauze. His conversation with his wife is him telling her that she is the only one that wouldn't have passed him in a fidelity test, she was the only that knew that something wasn't right. In the real world he was also regularly holding his front right forearm, the port spot. He fucking knows!
@pixelreset60206 жыл бұрын
What if William has NEVER been a human in the first place? I think that he was a host conceived by Ford to first approach Delos to save his project financially and giving him more power to achieve his goal. Then William was used in the parc and has a specific mission to acomplish that, throughout his awakening, is slowly trying to gather the pieces of the puzzle. Would that be according to Ford's plan? Or Ford wanted him to awake and get his free will like Maeve and the Indian....
@MrStabby198126 жыл бұрын
Pixel Reset most likely both you would need someone in power to protect and help the hosts on the outside and someone who can fully understand both worlds
