This is awesome to see. I wrote the very first Haxe book with Franco Ponticelli back in 2006. It was called Professional Haxe and Neko. Haxe has come a long way, since. So good to see.

@@Volt-Eye. It's kind of outdated, for production is not that great, as gamesforscratch said, for gamejams or not-so-complex games it works best

I've been writing with heaps lately, so it's nice to see some haxe coverage. It's such an underrated "glue" language that feels like c#

I tried this framework and it was very easy to start and get up and running. But documentation is abysmal, and heaps+castle db seems good on paper but is very confusing to navigate and use

While I love Haxe, I think its documentation is one of the worst things about it. In contrast to both big and small languages and communities, like Swift and Odin, exploring Haxe documentation was…well usually it is like finding a needle in the haystack but now, there is no haystack and the needle is microscopic. Otherwise, I think Haxe just needs a bit of a buff. I know it is used professionally, so someone just needs to write a book or course on it.

I've tried this framework a few months ago, but all the libraries seemed to be old and unmaintained. The tutorial I was following had dead links to some tools. There also didn't seem to be a big community behind it. I only found one forum with not many recent posts. If you are into community and finding lots of resources online, this one might not be for you. I like that it's an underdog in the 2d engine space. I may try it again in the future.

Most active haxe community is probably the discord. Otherwise, I'm not really aware of other places with much activity.
Weird... the official site seems to show that Blue Bottle Games is a gold or platinum sponsor of HaxeFlixel, which kinda piqued my interest, but I'm not seeing either of their games -- Neo-Scavanger & Ostranauts -- listed in the popular games made with it.
