Love the sheen on their coats. I use Orchard Hay, too. Still allergic but not as bad as Timothy.

My black piggies are Queen & Flower (like the skunk from Bambi) I adopted them with 5 other girls from a local rescue to keep my other girl company who had recently lost her cage mate. 4 of those 7 girls were pregnant (yes I knew when I picked them!) All 4 have finally popped & we have 6 beautiful & healthy babies! 🎉 10 were born but 4 didn't make it. I believe the mamas were too young. 😢 The rescue had gotten them all from the pound after someone found them & a whole bunch more in the woods. So sad, people suck. But now these 14 girls have a loving forever home! ❤

Onyx is beautiful. I have a black piggie called Kerry. I love how their black coats are so shiny. The orchard hay is really good. Thank you for showing us these little beauties, Scotty 🐹🐹🐹🐹

Different varieties of hay would be a good idea for a video- as there's a lot of differences in what's used in different countries. I see timothy hay heavily pushed by North American pig channels as the best, but it's not something that's commonly grown in other continents. I think meadow hay is most common in the rest of the world, especially in Europe where hay has been harvested mostly the same way for centuries (probably much more). Both are really great for pigs, but there are probably some nutritional differences and environmental differences e.g. monoculture vs polyculture.

In the diet section of my guinea pig care guide I say that any grass hay is acceptable.

Yes indeed. Burgess in the UK have changed their 'Feeding Hay' which was meadow hay with dried flowers in it, to Timothy hay now. I've changed to the orchard hay and it's good 👍👍.

My black piggies were Matthew Mark and Munchkin Sean Collier. My latest big bag of Oxbow Western Timothy had a weird clump in it I have never seen. I wouldn't give it to Nini. Thinking of trying a hay box like Small Pet Select as a comparison.

@@ScottysAnimals I bought the Heavenly Greens hay additive Ni ni turned her nose up at from them. They gave me a new customer discount. Guess I have enough points for something else that's why I am thinking of trying a box of hay from them.

I'm guessing you mean that you're spending a lot of money on hay. My suggestion has always been to buy it in bulk at a feed store. I literally get an entire bale of hay for $30. That would last the average pair of guinea pigs 6 months. Some people have found 50 lb boxes online for pretty cheap as well. Hay should be the cheapest part of their diet.

@ScottysAnimals I'm feeding 28 females 8 males of my own and tqo.of my males are skinniest. Then I have fosters. I do.buy bundles hay and search for.deals on veggies. We also get alot donations for the fosters. But seems like last week they been eating more then normal.
