As a teen many years ago, this was one of my favourites video ever on KZbin, obsessed with acceleration videos. Today, many years later I still enjoy it, the camera quality gives it also something special, nostalgic basically.

@JakeVexx21 Totally agree. In Germany there are no speed limits on German Autobahn and when a car is approaching with 200 km/h or faster while you're driving 130km/h it's really difficult to estimate the other driver's speed. A motorcycle's silhouette is even thinner, and therefore it's speed is even more difficult to estimate. But this looks to me more like France or Spain, where speed is limited to 130 km/h. No one there will expect someone to drive with the speed of 280 km/h.

There’s another one similar to this, but the interstate/“other” (not sure where this was filmed, the speedometer is in km/h) is significantly more crowded and the driver never lets up. It’s pretty intense.

Are you really justified in tooting your horn at someone because they change lanes in front of you at 250kmh? How the fuck was he supposed to see you coming?
@Reichiruu9 жыл бұрын
djtutty76 agreed, but he might have been a bit to much "in the moment". and for his own sake, I do hope he was, and just not thinking of other things X) peace.
@Mr0supra09 жыл бұрын
djtutty76 i think this is recorded in germany so yes, he is justified because basically you have sections where you can drive as fast as you want...and 250 isn't even fast on those roads trust me and 250 is not a speed where you "pop out of nowhere". The driver just missjudged the bikers speed, AND the biker really wasn't that far away that you can say "he came to close to fast" I have the feeling that the guy in the car really just glanced at his mirror and switched lanes without thinking about it . If you consider my average traveling speed is 220-230, and that I still get overtaken by axpromitaly 2 cars a minute, 250 really is nothing special. PS: I'm not a biker.

The white lines, length of the line on the German autobahn is 6 meters, the distance between them is 12 meters. If you count 10 lines it's 180meters he did in 2 seconds (from 1.47 to 1.49). By that he does 900m every 10 seconds. 5.4km every minute. 60minutes would mean 324km/h. The passing of the cars is just the camera angle, nothing more :) That is just roughly calculated, not really accurate, but it is still over 300.

While the motorcyclist was riding at around 160MPH after exiting a curve, the minivan at 1:00 moved into the left lane to pass a vehicle in the right lane. With the motorcyclist's high speed, the minivan driver probably properly completely a mirror and then head check. During the head check, the motorcycle likely became visible in the mirror, which had already been glanced at. I am so glad this video didn't have the word "death" at the end, because that's what could have happened in an instant.

@GTXsonstnix Japanese bike manufacturers had a gentleman's agreement that bikes would be limited to 186mph. To do this Suzuki calculates the speed in 6th gear from the rpms and then cuts power at a certain value. To get around this you keep it in 5th and put a smile on. You see he was doing 320 kph in 5th which I believe is faster than 186 mph.
