@@JaceFinchamYeah the anime already shows how much of a garbage adaptation it is right from the beginning. Chapter 1 is Luffy's backstory, it's a great story that gets you hooked immediately and it ends with Luffy setting sail, defeating the Lord of the Coast (with that epic, iconic double page of the Gumu Gomu no Pistol) and proclaiming his dreams. The anime randomly moves it later (making the beginning much less interesting), censor the scene of Luffy getting his scar and it just doesn't hit nearly as well

There is a line in the live action where they try to get into the marine base and Luffy says "Maybe I can grab onto a giant bird or something", a direct reference to this scene Shank's crew are: Benn Beckman (first mate), Yasopp (sharpshooter), Lucky Roux (cook). Benn WAS actually in live action but they cast a guy who looks nothing like him and they probably knew because they mostly hid him in the background.

So, i apologize in advance but i will tell a very sad but somewhat wholesome story. I started one piece in 2006 because my friend wouldn't just stop begging for me to watch it, since no one of his friends didn't like ine piece he didn't have no one to talk and have fun about one piece, so one day in the same year i started and to my very surprise i liked very much! Every day until 2020 we watched together but then covid came and when they found the vaccine my best friend was already gone, after that watching one piece just wasn't the same for me anymore until i started watching again in 2023, now i like to watch reactions of one piece on KZbin and i like to think im watching with a bunch of friends and seeing you two made me remmember the good old days, i like to think that when my time finally come i hopefully can find him and tell him all the good news and how our crew achieved each of their dream! Welcome aboard on this journey, i hope you two like as much as we fan's in the whole world like! Big love from brazil 💚.

Woah.. that was unexpectedly heavy. I was part of the OG fans who read the Big 3 while the mangas were running. So I had friends who love OP, those who love Naruto, and Bleach, but I was the only one who read all 3 😅. During school breaks I'd go to their respective classes to talk about the latest chapter/episode of each. Those were the days...after we all finished school we were never really in contact much. That time social media isn't so well established yet. There was Friendster and MySpace iirc. Anyways, nowadays, we have FB groups, subreddits and YT reactors. Its crazy that you guys are watching Attack on Titan and One Piece at the same time. One is an absurdist adventure that relies on comedy, with poignant character moments, while the other is so realistic that it can genuinely give people PTSD, with very few light hearted moments. One Piece shows how fun the world is and how adventurous life can be while AOT shows how cruel the world is and how nothing may be as it seems. Yet, they both go much much deeper than that and explore many many more themes. You may shed tears of joy and laughter while watching OP and you may scream in pain, anguish and despair while watching AOT. Yet, both are peak anime and its a pleasure to join you both in your journey. Fun Fact: The entire AOT is about 100 episodes which is less than half the length of the latest OP season, which went on for more than 4 years and ended just in December last year.

@HaohmaruHL Жыл бұрын
It's because of the anime format. They can't just end an episode anywhere like a chapter in manga. Since time flow isn't determined in the manga and it depends on reader's speed. But in the anime things happen real time so they have to stretch/shrink the pacing to adjust the manga's content to the 22 minutes duration of the episode. The opening time, ending time and recap time help them balance it out too. That's why it often feels like they're purposeful stretching it right before the end of the episode and why you can always tell a to be continued is coming.

"I can't wait til we get to the grand line" *Face visibly contorts as she remembers they've pledged to not keep watching beyond the live action* "I can't wait..." lol good luck holding back 😂 Episode 4: This is a weird bit of translation funkiness, but in the manga, Shanks outright says to Luffy "Do you know why we call you anchor? Because you can't swim! What good is a pirate that can't swim?" The live action more subtly implies this by having Shanks tease Luffy by saying "My ship already has an anchor", but the anime seems to imply the opposite but skipping a part of the dialogue and reframing it. I'm sure the writers meant to imply "Even if you learn to swim, that's not enough" but they... missed the mark. Or the subtitlers just messed up the nuance. Either way, adaptations~

The pistols and rifles they use are matchlock, they were used in the real world until the early to mid 1700's, and historically could only be fired once before reloading, but in an SBS (little worldbuilding Q&A panels at the end of some manga chapters) Oda revealed that some people in One Piece have theirs modified to be fired multiple times. So, so glad to see you both giving the anime a chance, and enjoying it this wholeheartedly. You're right about the song "We Are"! The anime has had numerous theme songs throughout its 15 year run, including some really good ones. (I like one of the most recent opening themes particularly.) However, the original tunes for the show's opening and ending hold a special place in my heart, and always will. I'm sure lots of fans feel the same. Good to see that Coby has grown on you. The original storyline gives more development to his character in the first few episodes, instead of throughout a season like the live action adaptation did. Soon, you'll understand why that's the case. Yes, the bullets in "One Piece" are round. They're patterned after the musket balls that were once in use in our world. That's why Luffy is able to repel them -- if their bullets were sharp or pointed, I think he'd have a lot more trouble with them. And if you think that the anime story is going to be less touching or heartwarming than the adaptation, then you're seriously underestimating Oda-sensei. Some of the story parts that were cut or simplified in live action are absolute tear-jerkers. You'll find out what I mean very, very soon. Happy watching!

Seeing you experience this show I've been a fan of for over twenty years now is amazing. It allows me to relive all these moments through your eyes. It's still the best show I've ever seen, and I'm glad it's gained so much traction over the years that even people who always refused anime now watch it. I'm happy you too found this beautiful gem and hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.

Your One Piece reactions are the highlight of my day. Truly excited to welcome such joyful and appreciative people to the crew!

do they release one piece reactions daily? I'm obsessed with these girls reactions!1
@fruitykrueger Жыл бұрын
They haven’t announced a fixed schedule, but based on their Patreon releases it seems they’ll post 2 days back to back and then a 5 days break. So about 2 uploads (4 episodes) per week is what I’m guessing

And if I'm not wrong, "Shanks" should also be the name of a part of an anchor!

I can't wait to see your reactions to the entire anime!!! I love it!!! I recommend that you continue watching the anime because you will not be able to hold on and that way you will not forget anything.
@the_Nameless_One99 Жыл бұрын
20:43 "I forgot about that" EXACTLY!!! The One Piece Live Action was superb and amazing and did a better job than I could have ever imagined possible, but pivotal moments like Shanks losing the arm, Shanks passing on the iconic Straw Hat, and a couple of more to come (Zoro's declaration to never lose again, Nami asking for help) just fell flat when compared to the IMPACT they had in the anime.

Koby used "Tomodachi", thats the translation for friends..but Luffy and crew often use "Nakama", the sense is of Comrade, like saying you my homie dude.. In this world, Tomodachi is often used by antagonists to mock others..while Nakama is a dearer term as a whole.

I retract what I said yesterday. I said you could start after the events of the live action show but you chose the long route with more detail and I respect that haha. You two are the only reaction channel I watch and I randomly found it while watching demon slayer clips lmao. You seem genuine. Keep killin the game
