Thanks for the video, but thank you more for the comments. My son and I just got done changing my low beam bulb on my 2010 Acadia. We did NOT take the wheel off!

Thanks for the clear and concise demonstration. The other ones I saw were so much more difficult.

That is way more work than necessary. If you own a shop and you are doing these headlights like that, you are losing so much time and money. Turn the wheel, only undo the front of the fender liner, pull it back and replace the bulb. Craziness

I like how the car starts out with wheels on the ground... by the end its in the air

Congratulations GMC I now hate your vehicles and will never buy another one ever again in my life. Any car company that makes this much of a task to change a lightbulb is not a company I will do business with.

Most new cars and trucks are the same way. You don’t have to remove the entire fender guard or tire. Just turn tire out and loosen front part of splash shield and you can reach in no problem.

Agreed and concur 100 percent. Been a die hard GMC customer my entire life and my entire family included. Wouldn’t get another one if it was free if charge. Then they have the audacity to charge 90k for a pickup truck. After we tax payers bailed their asses out the last time they went bankrupt. Done with them. It all started with that stupid Malibu car they manufactured!

That's allitle extra. Just turn the tire remove the front inner fender well than get your hand in there to change bulb.

Glad they removed everything for recording with the camera. I wish they would have focused on the removal/replacement of the bulb itself. I have changed the passenger side low bulb but it was very difficult due to space and doing it with no eyes on since I only removed 5 screws in the wheel well cover. Now I need to change the driver side.

I tried changing the bulbs by way of removing the headlight assembly. That's typically how I've had to do this with other vehicles. The aft-most bolt (10mm) that screws into the fender area has an expanding nut underneath it. That bolt being as long as it is can develop rust on the exposed threads past that nut. On my vehicle the bolt jammed on this rust, and the expanded nut spun. Once that happens I was done. Can't screw out anymore. Can't screw it back in. Can't get access to the backside of it without taking the fender off. Going to have to cut the hex head off the bolt and put a washer/non-locking nut on it. Point is, for the Acadia, better off taking off the wheels and fender skirting for this task.

GM engineers create excellent drivetrains, but lighting and electrical systems on their trucks are contracted out to mentally challenged children.

Right is right even if nobody is doing it and wrong is wrong even if everybody is doing it. GMC shame on you! Think of the hardship this has caused folks like a single mother trying to make ends meet. They will have to spend or borrow money they don’t have and pay just to get a head light replacement.
