It's July 2022 there is a heatwave going on in England and across Europe, I'm here in England sat in front of a blumming great big fan cooling me down whilst I listen to this. A great song by Hazel O'Connor taking me way back in time and down memory lane to the early 80s. Saxophone is AMAZING.

I was 16 in 1980. One the songs of my (young and knew-not-as-much-as-I-thought lol) life. They were all incredibly important then :) But this has stayed with me. Hazel's rendering vocals and...that sax solo...!

This remains one of the best songs of the early 80s. Great lyrics, superbly delivered by Hazel O'Connor and one of the definitive killer sax solos of the last four decades, easily standing alongside the likes of Baker Street & Walk On The Wild Side😎👍 Featured in my Retro KZbin playlists.

The best version. "Gather me to you, and make me whole" A lot of artists produce a peak that does not last long. Take Rachmaninoff with the Concerto two and three - the rest poor. Hazel O'Connor produced this and "The eighth Day" . It was great whilst she was young. She is now trying to capitalise on it when she is way way past it. Stop it. You are too old. This was good with Wesley McGoogan. Don't spoil it. It is a Classic, and you cannot go back.
