@@charlierennie9192 No it isn't. As a long time fan it's long been a pet peeve of mine how much the Aussie commentary sucks off the opposition team. Whenever they're playing poorly, they're "unlucky" and if they're playing well they're the GOAT even if they're on debut. NZ commentary being blatant homers is refreshing by contrast. I just want somewhere in between.

I think its safe to assume that Black Caps dominance is diminishing. Their core group of players are aging and their reserves are inexperienced. Sri Lankan went through this in 2015 and its slowly starting to come around in 2024. New Zealand will enter that painful phase. Their U19 teams were really below par. England has entered this phase, New Zealand are entering. South Africa for some miracle, luckily avoided it. Get use to it Black Cap fans, its going to be a painful bumpy ride.

@@TwoBlokesOneBall he averaged 47 against South Africa before the most recent series and most of those runs were at home as well. Averages 21 in South Africa, 30 in England, 33 in India and 42 in Australia. His away average isn’t even that bad at 45 but he got most of those runs in Pakistan, the UAE when Pakistan played there and in the windies. Not to mention the fact he averages 97 in Zimbabwe and 55 in Bangladesh which is also skewing his away average. Never realised quite how much of a minnow basher he was. Still a great batsman overall but against top attacks especially away from home he’s very ordinary

New Zealand has a rubbish batting line up. Williamson if good no doubt but averages less than 40 against the Aussies, Latham has a rubbish average against the top teams such as Australia, England and South Africa. You can’t succeed as a team when your batsman are failing against quality attacks so often.

You have got to be kidding me to doubt the ability of one of the greatest cricketers that NZ has ever produced. He is probably amongst the best in business of this era, Remember he’s not always playing in flat wickets. If only NZ had a solid opening pair, he almost always comes to bat one down in first five overs of the test match and gets exposed. Also NZ plays way less test cricket than Aus or England or India. They never play 3 tests at home, unlike most of the countries.

@@ssds86 I’m not denying he’s a great batsman I’m just saying it’s surprising how poorly he performs away from home versus the best test nations. His average is misleading that’s all. He’s not better than someone like kohli or root just cause he has a higher average. Also the amount of games he plays is irrelevant when it comes to average and the other fab 4 members all had to deal with poor openers especially away from home.
