23:57 oh lord! 15 years old. 3 tickets snagged from the fan club. Train to Reading. Met the band outside. Followed Bruce to Tesco. He bought fags. The security guy let us in 15 seconds before the door light went off. Ran faster than was possible when they opened. Got up against stage right in front of Stuart. Spent the next 3 hrs being crushed. Loved every second. Got a plectrum off Stuart. This is the first time I’ve been able to pick my face in it clearly. That’s me in the red tartan shirt waving at Stuart like starry eyed teenager ( I was!) Martin and Shaun my best mates either side of me. This makes me so emotional! Thank you SO much for these uploads. Talk about memories!!

Honestly mate, the recent HD uploads you’ve done ( as with all your content) have sent me down memory lane, and the emotions it brings with it is incredible. BC were the single most important thing in my life in my teens. Sounds dramatic, but true. Thanks again for this channel, I genuinely mean it.

Ditto….this was the 3rd time I’d seen them in just under 3 weeks. First gig was at the Bristol Hippodrome, followed by Poole Arts Centre a couple of days later and then the same as you, courtesy of 3 free tickets through the fan club, this amazing afternoon gig at the Reading Hexagon. Also, got in early and got right in front of the stage on the right hand side, right in front of Tony Butler. Come out of there dripping in sweat, but absolutely buzzing. Remember it like it was yesterday, can’t believe it was nearly 40 years ago. Great time to be alive.

Saw them in Dublin in 1991, when they were considered "past their prime" and my gosh, the band were on FIRE all evening and I would even go as far to say that the early 1990's the band were so seasoned and didn't give a flying f### that they just played their hearts out for the love of music, no label, no TV crews, no one reviewing them for the weeklies, just the band in communion with their long standing fans. Sublime.

I remember this on BBC2 and recording it on the VHS video. I’d watch back and freeze-frame the stills of Mark to check out his setup and what skins he was using! This would have been a local gig for Mark as well. I wonder what Stuart would make of things in the world today, especially from a songwriting point of view? It all seems like a lifetime ago but here we are, still looking back at our old heroes and still managing to go forward. These guys were such a strong and positive influence to a young dreamer like me and I’ll always keep a flame alive for what is captured here.

I saw them many times. Had the pleasure of meeting Stuart and Bruce a few times at Sound Control in Dunfermline and after some gigs. They were giants in music. Stuart will never be forgotten, if only he knew the hole he would leave in his passing. Legendary.☮️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Absolute Epic. Im so happy i came across this. I honestly thought they were a 'One Hit Wonder' with In a Big Country. Was i wrong about that. That's all I have ever heard in Australia. Always loved that song. Would have loved to seen them live. Extremely tight and all having a mighty time. Rock on. Love it. This is like opening a box of hidden treasure.

Thanks for this. Saw them 2 nights later at Sheffield City Hall. My first proper gig. I'd been into them since the first record but was only 14 in 1983, on about £1 pocket money a week and nobody would have taken me anyway. Got my mates into them over the next 2 years and one of them had a dad kind enough to take us along to this one (no way to get home afterwards otherwise - trains stopped before gigs did. Thanks Mr Swales!) Have a vague recollection of watching this at the time and thinking how it didn't sound as good as they did in real life. Some good work on the sound. Thanks for going to the trouble.

I saw them on this tour (the Seer) at the Manchester Apollo. Still have the program (remember those days)! Great gig. I’ve seen many re-incarnations of the band but after Stuart’s passing they never recovered IMO.

Wow thankyou, my Dad took me to see Big Country for the first time on this tour in Birmingham UK. I was 16. An amazing night and discovered the joy of bouncing up and down with fellow fans. 2 1/2 hours they played for against a backdrop of a Loch. Wonderful memories. Stay alive 💚

Nice one and many thanks Alan and Andy! Back in the day, I think I recorded this from TV onto VHS which obviously was rubbish quality, so amazing to see and hear what you’ve done. Incidentally, I was at Queen Knebworth later in this year and they did really well as a support band, got an encore and played the ‘scratch’ version of FoF, similar to what was played here.
