This band/song just goes to show you don’t have to be good at singing. You just have to know where to put your enunciations and know where to hold and when not to. Man I love this song.

if you listen its not crap its how he interprets the song after he has the fame and how it actually feels hes putting his true feelings into the song though some may view it as crap i think its more emotional and more (for lack of better words) TRUE

first of all, I never said it was crap, so ,, get your facts straight, I said, its annoying to be a fan for a song you hear on the radio or from THEIR CD that you paid for,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and then they perform it and it sounds nothing like the one you like,, thats what I said,, read first comment after ,,

@@guglielmodicarlo4139 Youuuu try doing the same exact thing for 4 minutes 38 seconds at a time the same exact way twice a night in various cities over the course of 4 months without skipping a single detail. Then do it again in the morning (live on the radio) to fill seats for the following day. Then do it next year when you tour again. Now do that for the past 25 years of your life. Oh, wait! Thats just one song. Add in all of the other songs and repeat. These are artists not robots nor slaves. Instead, realize that you already have the songs you like (with the version you like) on a fixed platform. Set to "repeat", press play, and quit complaining.

Adam Duritz is up there with the best of vocalists. improvisation, and continual reinvention of this classic melody is no easy task. he makes it look effortless. it is clear that he is very deep and spiritual and it comes through in his singing

Jeez, people here are missing the bigger story. The lead singer said in interviews how overwhelming their insta-fame and that the subsequent death of Kurt Cobain was what really crystallized it all and shook him up, and afterwards he started singing the "fucked up as I can be" line. Now, LOOK AT THE DATE. They found Kurt's body just two days before this concert.

He is able to make some tasteful riffs here and there. Its no easy task to simply improvise, however he lacks the musicality to make any variations that dont feel choppy and careless. and when your voice is obviously as strained as his it just feels like constant dodging of higher range notes and bluberring around. Props to his band and work though.He is an artist

You said ......... Did this guy ever sing this song correctly live in his life? As it's his song however he sings it is correct. Many studio versions of songs are different because they are ''produced'' and not performed live. A studio allows an artist to multitrack and layer in a way that's impossible to recreate live without having a huge band.

...SONG OF THE DAY!!! COUNTING CROWNS - MR. 🤘🏿ULTRAMEGAROLOTA🤘🏿14/12/2020

Actually, some bands SHOULDN'T stick to the studio, like Counting Crows, because they can actually perform. Don't have to rely on backing tracks and lip synching, etc. They have the TALENT to improvise, so why not use it?
@Ibanezish
@Ibanezish 10 жыл бұрын
countingcrows123 Why does it make them talented that the singer sings totally off beat? He sings in all the wrong moments compared to the instruments. Thats not talent, that epic failure. I'm sure if he tried he could sing this song good live, but singing off beat is ruining the song.
