I think it is mindblowing how versatile he is in his craft! I‘d love to see him doing some Blues with his voice and guitar skills and definitely a musical! He has capacity for great things, I hope he never gives up doing what he loves.

Can't say it enough... Keep rocking YOUR music, Daniel!! Put your music where your heart is, and shut out the noise of the fucks who have never, and will never evolve. You don't owe anyone shit. You're a phenomenal musician and singer... >M

I love his new sound AND I loved the 90's Silverchair sound as well. You grow as an artist and he obviously has. You can't expect a grown man to still sing like he did when he was 16. A true artist is innovative and not scared to venture out and grow! Kudos to Mr. Johns!

I didn't want to be in silverchair forever I didn't want to 50 and people say what did you do with your life and all I have is silverchair records I wanted to see a different perspective in music - Daniel Paul Johns

Flowers bloom then die, so lifes to short to give a fuck about what others want to create and live in life, worry about what you're doing in life before you fall to the dirt beneath.

I do like this song but I keep thinking how much better it could have been if it were a silverchair song with real drums and some guitar added. Daniel Johns used to be an idol of mine but he is slowly self destructing and eroding away at his legacy.

His solo stuff is trash. Loved the experimental side of Neon Ballroom, Diorama and Young Modern, but this is just pop-by-numbers. Nothing interesting or unique about it. The Dissociatives was better than this.

@davidg16126 жыл бұрын
There is a fine line between experimenting with new sounds and completely abandoning your roots. It's obvious as to what side of that line he's on. If you didn't know he ever played guitar and sang in Silverchair, you'd probably have a much different reaction to this than those that have followed him since Silverchair's debut. Honestly, I can't even take this music seriously. It's like something snapped in his brain and he's trying to erase his past when there's plenty of things to be proud of there. He created some great songs back then but if this is where he wants to be musically, he can't expect his longtime fans who love their rock music to follow this......what the hell is this? Neo-soul? Electronica? I don't know but I think it's just so boring.

+J o n a t h a n Well.. You would be completely wrong lol
@backtothefact9 жыл бұрын
+J o n a t h a n I just read up on that. Daniel and Ben both wrote the songs on Frogstomp, then Daniel wrote 9 of the 13 songs on Freak Show, with four of the songs being co-written with Ben. On Neon Ballroom, Ben wrote Spawn Again, and Daniel wrote the rest of the songs. On Diorama, Daniel wrote them all, but on Young Modern he co-wrote some of the songs with Julian Hamilton. So Daniel wrote the majority of all of their songs.
@EvanescenceWTfreak9 жыл бұрын
+back-to-the-fact Really? Out of all the songs of NB I wouldn't think Ben wrote Spawn Again. Especially because of Daniel's support to Animal Liberation and being a vegan and stuff!
@backtothefact9 жыл бұрын
Liszle Maybe you're right. But I read this on Wikipedia, that Ben and Daniel wrote Spawn Again. If you look at the Wikipedia article about Neon Ballroom it says this in the track listing and talks about the evolution of the song in the Content section.
@EvanescenceWTfreak9 жыл бұрын
