This is why I fucking love live performances. When a band can outperform what they've done in studio through sheer power and energy, you know they're authentic. You know it's for real.

It's really too bad they couldn't get past their personal differences, because the combination of Eddie's voice and Dave Abbruzzese's drums was out of this world. Really the five of them together were phenomenal.

Dave Abbruzzese was *so* in-the-pocket on Vs. and Vitalogy. I get Dave Krusen and Matt Cameron being part of PJ's HoF induction, but it makes absolutely zero sense for them to have snubbed Abbruzzese. He probably played on more chart-topping Pearl Jam studio recordings than the other two drummers combined. It's also stupid that Matt Cameron wouldn't be in it anyways, since Soundgarden seems like a no-brainer to me.

The 90's was a special decade in music, perhaps the last special decade where so much was played on the airwaves. Unlike the past 13-15 years where most if not all pop music is written by a handful of songwriters and has a same-y quality, the 90's had a spectrum of various styles and music groups that had some things in common but were more distinct than they were similar. If you had to pick just a few songs to define the first half of the 90's, this is it, along with Enter Sandman and Smells Like Teen Spirit. I say this because I lived through it and you could always find those songs playing somewhere, whether it was on MTV, at the Mall, boating on the lake, or at Tower Records. It was an amazing time and I didn't appreciate it in the moment as I do nowadays since I have discovered this little thing called nostalgia...

Eddie's a great guy. I met him a longtime ago.We walked and talked for a little bit,in Kaunikakai,on Molokai,Hi. We were using the same auto teller, and he was behind me. We spoke, and when I asked him if he'd walk with me to meet my husband,he said sure. It was only to the end of the block. I found out he was looking to buy a home there. When we got to where my husband was sitting, there were a lot of people around. We stopped and he shook his head with a grimace. I told him to just forget it,we shook hands, and he went to where his car was at the gas station across the street. A great memory.
