Want to appreciate the movie even MORE? Watch the remake that was for some reason directed by the SAME guy who directed this one! Obviously it's inferior, and for multiple reasons. One of which was they used this same song again, but got someone else to sing it instead of using the superior Melissa Manchester version.

@@Kennny-y2t Next time you watch it look at the date on the screen of the machine they scan her brain with(It's not an MRI since those weren't commonly available until 1980-1985). It says 04-Mar-79, but the movie came out in the theaters on 12-31-78. Also, in the 90s/early 2000s there was a gorgeous adult actress called Alexus Winston. It was said that she picked that name as her stage name because she was a fan of the movie, but changed the first name slightly, probably to avoid any possible legal trouble from Columbia pictures.

I first seen this movie in 1978 and I loved it ever since , I was 8 years ago and my friend and I would go ice skating all the time , she was getting skating lessons but I couldn't do any tricks but I could skate pretty fast . I still can't believe that this was Lynn Holly Johnson's first movie , she was incredible , this movie makes me cry everytime !

Omg. 70s and 80s films were so good. No CGI crap.with no real acting. I was super young but remember watch it and being sad but loving it. Theme music was the best back then. No auto tune

I have not watched the film, I am very young myself (Gen Z), but I got to agree the scenes and the rhythm of the own song match perfectly, right at the moment where Alexis had to do the ice skate again. You just made me cry whilist I was watching the story grow and the song with Melissa Manchester powerful voice, and that is a difficult effect to create ❤ Appreciate you hard work, you should get more views from this video. Att an european who is turning 18 in a few months Have a nice if you took the time to read this. I'm late to this - I absolutely love this movie! I cry every time I watch it. I saw Melissa Manchester about 7 or 8 years ago. I cried my eyes out when she sang this song. I got to meet her afterward and told her I cried through the whole song and that it was my favorite of all her songs. She gave me a big hug and thanked me. I have a picture of me with her that I'll always cherish.❤

I only found out a few days ago that the director made a remake in 2010 for the Millennials. Because obviously Millennials wouldn't watch a movie where everyone didn't have a mobile phone because that's totally unrealistic. It wasn't "bad" per se, but it was inferior to his original in every way, so there is no reason to watch this one. They even used the same song but had a different woman sing it, who of course was inferior to Melissa Manchester.

The best thing about the movie is they were sweethearts since children and he never gr aee up on her. The scenes that seemed uncaring were just the opposite as he supported her no matter what and I've loved but realize I've never known true love. True love requires less and selflessness of oneself and I could never be that person but even after his first love found interst in another his dedication and love never wavered. That's the core of it all.
