The laptop has an output port for HDMI/VGA. So, you will not be able to use your laptop as a monitor.

One is for converting HDMI to VGA and the other one is for converting VGA to HDMI. So, you need to make sure that you are using the correct ports and adapters.

@@theblast99 Hi, So, I tried connecting my laptop (ASUS FX503VD from 2017) to my TV via the HDMI port. Apparantly, my laptop was using the Integrated Graphics to drive the television as well. depositfiles.com/files/tl03wori2 So, unless your laptop has a MUX switch, it will use integrated graphics for display and dedicated graphics card for other tasks.
