As one comment stated you need to pull a vacuum on the system anytime you open the system up to air. It serves two purposes, one to boil ou any moisture from the system and two, by holding a vacuum you can do a leak check. The other item I would recommend is replacing the accumulator as it has a descent sack in it that absorbs moisture. You system may work now, but once the temps go way up and high humidity you won’t be getting the maximum amount of cooling.

I’m so glad you were able to fix the Volvo yourself. You are good Aaron at fixing things. That looked like a lot of work there you were doing with hoses and all. Glad it’s back up and running. Our water level is way down at Lake Meade. They aren’t sure yet what’s going on with that where we are going to get water. We cut down on our usage. Powell looks bad and so does that water where you are at. Glad you are doing fine and doing great with your business. Kelly and Jim have kept me busy watching their videos. I love you both. well be thankful you have a mechanical ability to repair these things that have been so challenging for you. boy when it rains it pours for you. just a word to let you know that the ratchets they make these days are made with plastic gears so putting so much pressure on them trying to loosen bolts can strip them faster then you can spit. if your wife is thinking the truck is a bad choice tell her just a few more items and it will be just like factory new

If I were doing what you did I would get fittings with nuts instead of the push on fittings which will leak.

Aaron: Excellent video and job of diagnosing the issue. Hope to see you and Tina here later this year. We will be going full time in a Volvo HDT and NH 5th wheel. I am a shade tree mechanic and have always been pretty handy at fixing things. Have had a couple of little issues on our Volvo that i was able to fix pretty easily. Safe travels.

Our leak gradually got worse so I'm glad I found it. Was surprised that I didn't have any shifting issues with the transmission air leak but it must not have been enough to overcome the compressor. Hopefully yours is an easy fix too. :) Safe Travels

You didn't mention it when you discussed recharging the AC system but if you did not pull a vacuum on the system before charging it you will have air and moisture in the lines and an inaccurate charge and this will lead to an inefficient air conditioning system and an eventual failure. Before getting too far down the road I highly recommend getting the system recovered and recharged. Great job on the repairs especially one handed. Glad I found your channel, I am also an AF Vet.

Aaron, certified ASE truck mechanic. Just another certification to add to your list. Love the way they make it so you have to disable half of the truck to fix one little tube. Love Class 8 Truck parts. Big trucks are like boats we are always putting dollars in them.😂🤣😭. Also Aaron what size is the tubing on your main rail for the Smart car bed? Always something isn't with these Volvos Aaron. They are really proud of their parts even though they seem to be engineered for failure after a period of time. Glad to see yall are getting the AC back. I did a dipstick last fall and that with the tube was 180 bucks. Safe travels! - Paul & Julie Mn.

Not to change the topic but I need some help. In June we will be selling our house and start full time rv living, finding what rv insurance to go to that covers full time and tow vehicle. I am considering an hdt or possibly an f 450 we currently have an f 350 (2002). We also need insurance on a storage unit. Not concerned with health insurance ( Medicare and tricare ). Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

That airline runs your I shifter on the transmission. Looking at your drive shaft, the U joints looks alittle dry. Might need to do some greasing on the truck. Normal it happens when servicing. But since you guys aren't doing the miles normally done by commercial drivers. You might need to do it yourself. Just grease those nipples
