At 2:53 in this video, for some reason the footage showed the LG C9 exhibiting some judder, which wasn't present in real life at all. We're not entirely sure what introduced the judder... perhaps a camera settings/ frame rate mismatch?

The term "Karen" has been so successful as a meme precisely because everyone instinctively knows what kind of person it describes: an entitled obnoxious nuisance, who loves to bully people and even put their livelihoods at risk. The term doesn't refer to all women, it doesn't even refer to all white women, it doesn't even refer to all mid-aged white women. It refers to a specific personality type, that is instantly recognizable, because it exists. And the term could be much much less kind, than it is. All things considered, Karen is still a kind term. You can rest assured, that the term for its male equivalent would be much harsher.

2000 hours since 2019? That's great longevity. I've had my 48" CX for 10 months and I have almost 5000 hours already (4880 to be exact). I use it for everything though...computer monitor, gaming, streaming, etc.) Not a trace of burn-in/IR so far. I'm curious to see how long it will last at this pace. Probably a third or more of that time was spent with either a "no signal" PC blank screen saver or the LG screen saver, so it's not like all of that time it was displaying content. If it's going to wash out, develop burn-in/IR, or something else we'll see eventually. I'm curious to see if there will be any noticeable difference at like 10K hours. Whatever happens, there's not a gaming monitor available I would trade for. LG OELD offers the best gaming experience available if you want a larger size display... RE8 Village in HDR/RGB/4K/120 looks sweet at the moment...

Just look at the green wallpaper in the Bond scene. A totally different color compared to HX310. This can't all be due to different angles and filming condition? Thank you so much for this video!!! This video has confirmed a long running suspicion I've had, I had been using the 55" C9 for gaming, on ALL platforms including PC, for 2 years, then I gave that to my wife for her upstairs living room and got me the CX 48" to replace it in my man cave. When I first started using the CX I immediately felt as though the blacks were not as black as the C9, and if you watch closely in the dark scenes of your video, you can clearly see that the C9 & C1 are a shade or two darker. WTH!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! All the same though, I wouldn't trade OLED for anything, gaming on an OLED is 100% unmatched by anything else and I am eagerly awaiting for LG to release an actual OLED monitor, the rumored 32" and 40". I've owned a 40" 4k monitor and I truly believe that 40" is the sweet spot for 4k desktop.

The LG C9 has outstanding low SDR input lag in 'Game' mode. In 'PC' mode, the input lag is higher than the C8, which is somewhat strange. With the latest firmware (05.30.31) we measured a higher input lag with 4k @ 60Hz + HDR signals. This is fine for most people, but may be disappointing for fast-paced HDR games. This is strange, and we expect it to be reduced in a future firmware update.

Compare the colors on a LG OLED and a Sony or Samsung LCD TV side-by-side and you'll notice that the color grey always has a green tinge on the OLED. Every couple generations of electronics technology there's a version that just get's everything right where they throw everything at a model and check's all the boxes. With the LG OLED's it was the "9-Series". The 9-Series are still some of the best tv's when you look at everything thing they offer compared to the compromises taken afterwards. I have the King of the Hill, the LG E9, and with the updates LG continues to provide its just as good and better that a CX and C1.

After enjoying my C9 for years I decided to get a C2 for an upgrade to 65” from 55”. It confirmed to me just how great the C9 is. The C2 doesn’t have the same feel as the C9. C9 has a more premium feel, bezel, controller, interface, settings, etc. The C9 is amazing, wish I got a 65” when I had the chance.

I have a LG 77C9 and new SONY 55A90J I swear with my eyes, the LG performs better with my Dish satellite picture than the Sony in standard definition. Only in HDR is the Sony brighter, it really has problems in dark scenes they get so dark that you can’t see anything. I called Sony and they tried to help me fix the settings but I never had that issue with the LG.

Yeah Vincent is truly the best, anytime I'm searching for information on my LG C1 OLED tv I skip over everyone else and go straight to the information he provides. I'm very happy with my tv for mostly gaming purposes but also watch sporting events as well. It's amazing. If you don't own an OLED tv yet. The new 2021 55" LG C1 is a must have. But if you can go bigger like a 65" I would. That's my only regret not going bigger for a more immersive feeling. I've commented on so many videos now lol. Just trying to get all the information on this tv I can to achieve the best of it's abilities. Thanks for the great content!

Based on your findings regarding the smooth gradation setting and my own experience with the CX, I suspect that there is actually a bug in the CX. I too cannot tell any difference with that setting no matter what it's on and I think it may be because the setting doesn't actually do anything. The CX probably has its smooth gradation filter internally set to "low" or "medium" and the actual setting has no effect. That would explain why it it looks better than the other two by default but the other two overtake it once you actually enable their settings. The CX is starting with the setting on and not changing based on your input whereas the other two start with it off and do change. I could be wrong but that seems like a reasonable explanation for the strange performance difference.

For anyone who orders an oled from lg you can pair the free lg pl5 Bluetooth speaker they give you to it and get a way better surround sound effect with more bass plus it doesn’t block the tv. It’s worth it and is what i have hooked up to my c1 for that extra bass

@@josecarlosvilla4351 DTM always increases the contrast range of the picture and always fully uses the tvs capabilities ... means: some scenes get slightly darker to not lose bright details ... and some others get slightly brighter to increase contrast. So, DTM most of the time slightly deviates from the original content, but always for making HDR more impactful, using all the potential of the tv and avoiding any clipping ... which is perfect. Why Vincent accepts reducing brightness in some scenes but refuses the same in the other direction will always be a mystery for me ... BOTH ways the picture is slightly incorrect (but always the result is more impactful).

@@marcuscole8796 i dont know if Vincent has use the ub9000 for playing the test films but i believe is good to know if dtm of ub9000 is better than LG oleds. I know Vincent like very much this dtm in ub9000, you only need to see your video, and now with MK2 un the market in some time id like to know this
@marcuscole87963 жыл бұрын
@@josecarlosvilla4351 Vincent always uses the OPPO 203 ... plus the "HDR Optimiser" of the UB9000 is no dynamic function like LGs DTM. The "HDR Optimiser" re-maps the incoming signal once down to the max. brightness capabilities of the display ... by only reducing the brightness of bright details ... hence reduces the contrast range in scenes with bright elements. Why Vincent likes this feature although it is deviating from the original contrast range (or creators intent) I will also never understand. Only for projector users (with below 350nit capability) I understand the benefit maybe larger than the resulting loss of contrast range, but not for tvs exceeding 650 nits or more. LGs DTM always increases the contrast range, is actually a dynamic function which analyses the incoming signal and improves content frame-by-frame ... for dark scenes as well as for bright scenes ... and it's calibrated especially for your specific tv ... which neither HDR10+ nor the HDR Optimiser can offer. Be glad you have the much more powerful technology installed in your E9 !

@@marcuscole8796 Thanks sir, i really like the E9, is by far the best tv i ever owned and my intention is try to keep it as possible. I dont want to change it year after year, in fact Vincent is clear in their conclusions in the video. Id like the panasonic dp ub9000 too, because it has dolby vision and my sony ubp x800 mk1 dont. Considering Panasonic will make a mk2 version of ub9000 maybe could be a good option to buy, or maybe safe money and go for ub 820 since i dont need the special capabilityes music options in the ub9000. Many thanks

The thing is the horizontal lines problem you descripe @ 7:45 can develope on the other 2 samples as well. It happend on my 65" c9 only after a 400 hundred hours and about 5 manual pixel refresh cycles. I'm 100% certain it was not there before. It's not an HDR only problem either, but there it's the most obvious. Thanks a lot for speaking about this though.
