What an amazing family. Liam being at risk is difficult and I watch his struggle yet he handles it with such strength and grace. This is such a difficult disease - no remission, just final devastation. I am in awe of the Lewis family.

I wish I had the possibility to say to this beautiful family who seemed a bit depressed at the time: the future of every body is unknown and every person can see its life changing in five minutes. No one can guarantee an healthy person that he's going to be healthy next year or next month too. Mankind created the mantra "seize the moment" as the present moment is all we have. Enjoy!

Watching this is upsetting I don't remember my mom or aunt being like this with small movements yet still having memories and still having common sense I already lost my mom to it . :((

My father had HD and my brother still have it at last stage. But how this can help to show the reality about this? This is very hard, so sad. This HD destroyed my family.

are you ok? Same situation as me... my grand mother died..no one knew what was the issue.. then dad..he never tested.. that time mensioned that it is some sort of chorea.. then now brother is positive..

Genetic testing before marriage or children should be in the future a requirement to eradicate this disease
@JM-kx1sl3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, that´s the only way to eradicate this.
@firstnamelastname74763 жыл бұрын
I agree we should if possible.. but unsure if it would eradicate it.. not sure but it may be that the gene occurs sometimes via random mutation at conception. so I suppose ideally we should instead test every embryo for the gene. if you have HD, this should be mandatory imo.

@Bonnie Young, genetic testing before marriage?! Absolute nonsense.

@@alangray6961 why is genetic testing absolute nonsense?

@@Chopchop752 my complaint isn't with genetic testing. My issue is with the comment stating it should be a requirement for marriage.

I kinda see HD as the opposite of MND.. one makes you physically active and takes your mind away, the other takes your body but leaves your mind. Both absolutely horrible.. but the way HD can take a whole family, leaving just one parent, is truly tragic.

Not bring children into the world to suffer and die. If you carry a lethal gene, you can choose not to pass it on to your innocent children.
