A tale older than time, two great foes whose greed and lust for power have given them a sole goal in mind; Watson, to end the lives of those he touches. Cinder block, to end the lives of the snails he crushes. A hyper-intelligent snail vs a hyper-intelligent snail crushing cinder block. I wouldn't believe the outcome had I not seen it myself. This video has the plot twists and turns of a cinematic masterpiece in the span of a mere 8 seconds. The reveal of Watson already having won before cinder block had landed the first (albeit only) blow is reminiscent to me of JoJo's bizarre adventure, which has a few moments in which JoJo outsmarts his foes to the point in which they try to throw a grenade attached to them, only to activate several grenades on their back. A fleeting victory garnering the further loss caused by their own hand. By throwing the cinder block, you can see pastel flurry has left themself completely vulnerable to the snail, Watson. Unfortunately, this gamble does not work, and the snail emerges victorious. The plot alone does not make the video, however. The sound design is honestly beyond words. "Hey Watson, cinder block" evokes a sense of surprise from the viewer, and it is followed by a cinder block actually being thrown at Watson. This sets the expectation for Watson to die, but the reveal he was still there all along is incredible. And the panic you hear when it's revealed Watson is still alive? Chef's kiss, honestly. In addition, the animation style is fluid and beautiful. The characters are unique and the color palette is incredibly appealing to the eye. I truly became attached to all these characters over the course of the film, and I cannot wait for a sequel, if it is ever made. Truly a masterpiece, top 3 cinematic pieces of all time, for sure up there with Morbius and Shrek.
