A really important thing here, in my opinion, is that they made us see that Edwina was really in love with Anthony, but I truly believe she wasn’t. She just was in love with the idea she created in her head about him. Anthony since the beginning said he didn’t want love, so his intentions were never “truly sincere” it was a facade he was doing. Even Edwina, when she talked to Daphne about how even-tempered Anthony was and Daphne being all like “ANTHONY EVEN TEMPERED?😂” because Anthony never showed his real emotions or feelings. It has been Kate since the beginning.

I believe what Marina did was necessary. He wanted nothing to do with her, but all of a sudden, when she's happy and married, he came by unannounced and judging how she was with her husband. you can understand Kate's sacrifice, but also why Edwina gets angry. People act like she should not be after all. Kate lied to her (ok, to protect her, it seems like but I personally don't like omissions disguised as protection and care) more than once, in this Grandparents thing and also about her feelings to the man she was supposed to marry, and she was the person she trusted the most. If I was Edwina I would be also, not for Anthony but for Kate as a sister with that kind of relationship. Also if I was Edwina I wouldn't like to be treated like that, as if I have no word or opinion, a doll that everyone has to protect. The same way Anthony treated Daphne in season 1, as if she cannot decide things for herself

By all accounts, Prudence can't really take back the accusation. If she did, she most likely wouldn't be believed, and if she was, she'd still be seen as a liar. Her reputation would be ruined and in high society at the time, how high a woman could marry basically decided there worth. As for Lady Featherington, she is definitely a handful, but I also feel for her. She's a mother with no husband and no money, just a name, and as the Sharmas have shown, no wealth could lead them to desperation.

I agree the Featherington storyline is empty. It's part of why I like season one more. In season one, I enjoyed all the storylines. In season two, it's only the main storyline that pulls me in. I still love the cast and spending time with the characters, but I think season two delivers the goods only in the main storyline.

It was perfectly acceptable for widows to remarry. But among the nobility it was surrounded by complications: if she married someone of lower status, she would be lowering her own social rank (and by implication that of her children); and whoever she married, she would not be bringing a dowry with her as her original fortune had been amalgamated into her husband's and now belonged to the title rather than to her. The pronunciation of Anthony is interesting. The great majority of the time they say it the British way "Antony" with a T sound, as I would expect. But once in a while someone (like Colin this episode) says "Anthony" the American way, as our reactors understandably do. I wonder if some subtle point is being made, or some continuity person just slipped up.
