One of the men involved is literally a lawyer. Imagine how much information on how to kill someone/clean up a crime scene he was privy to. To acquit a person takes a lot of time to build a case which equals a ton of information. (Though he’s apparently not a criminal lawyer. Still, all three boys had a good education and were very clearly smart.)The amount of weird kinky shit they found in Dylan’s room and Robert’s OWN semen found in his body connect better together than any story those men told. It’s sad that his family and wife won’t ever get to see those men behind bars.

honestly I think that the most likely explanation for the lack of struggle/needle marks/etc is that robert was probably having a kinky hookup with one of the men (hence his decision to go to their house after being exhausted from his day even though it was further away), and was killed in the middle of it before he could realize what was happening. speaking as someone with experience in the s/m scene, needle play is very common + knife play where you don’t cut at all and/or cut very lightly is even moreso. 99.99% of the time this kind of play is completely safe, to the point where it even leaving a long term scar is highly unlikely - however, if the sub is too far gone into subspace (which is a more common situation with newer subs who aren’t totally familiar with their personal boundaries yet) they might have a delayed reaction if the dom suddenly started hurting them for real, which is what I think might’ve happened with robert

@@kimmerrill3165 yeah, that’s why I think the marks were from needle play. typically the needles you use for that aren’t even attached to a syringe at all unless you’re doing medical rp, but even then you’re supposed to use ones that aren’t capable of injecting anything for safety reasons (to prevent the possibility of air embolisms)

If I were to guess, I'd say Robert was actually killed around the 10 o'clock time Joseph said in his interrogation. The others cleaned up the crime scene and they acted like they only found the body at the 11 time frame. Joseph slipped up during the interrogation, hence his rather petulant doubling down on how the operator was probably wrong instead of that he just got the time mixed up. As for the neighbors hearing the scream at 11, any of the three housemates could have been the ones to scream at that time. They clean up the crime scene, one of them screams so they can get the neighbors to testify about the noise at the 11 time, then they call the police. If we figure that Joseph got nervous during his interview and slipped up by telling the actual time of the murder instead of the time in the cover story, that would also explain the discrepancy between him saying he heard grunts versus the other guy saying he heard a scream -- It actually was grunting heard, but they decided to have the scream as a part of the cover story to, again, make it look like Robert was killed an hour later than he was. Now obviously, this is all conjecture. I know there's no way to prove any of this and this is an actual crime and not a novel. But that's the thought that stuck out to me in this.
