If you'll notice, just before the 12 minute mark, that was John Lennon in the audience. On a side note, if you can find it (the Beatles always block it, so it's tough to find), Mick Jagger appears in the audience of "all you need is love" by the Beatles. Much peace and love to you....

@@irmarocha7809 Yep. Plus, if you can find the interview about this, the Beatles were great fans of Jimi Hendrix. They were invited to a small venue to watch him play. It was only about 2 or 3 days after the lonely hearts album came out, and Jimi played "Strawberry fields forever" for them. They were blown away that he'd already perfected how to play it as well as the fact that he already knew all of the lyrics. Amazing!

The guy in front if the bongo player was Brian Jones, He died in 1969. He was a guitar player, sitar player and major part of the Stones until he died. He got big into drugs and was found dead in his pool.

He was murdered. Research the latest investigations. Frank the Contractor. Was angry after being told the Stones would no longer be paying for Brian's home renovation, that he'd already been doing for months. Frank and Brian seen arguing in the pool the evening before he was found at the bottom of the pool next morning. Frank gave several contradicting statements over the years. The Police did no real investigation, preferring to BLAME the DRUGS!! Must've been the drugs, case closed. And no matter how stoned I might be, I'm sure I'd WAKE UP if I snorted a pail of water. I think Brian would've too. He was an excellent swimmer.

This song has for many years had a ton of speculation surrounding the meaning and even interviews with Mick he’s said various things about the meaning. The song is a list of horrible events- Jesus Christ crucifixion, “Anastasia screamed in pain” overthrow of the Russian Tsar (the mob executed the entire family Anastasia was a child), the Blitzkrieg raged (WW2 and Nazi Germany), shouted who killed the Kennedy’s (assassination of John and Bobby Kennedy) ..... he (the Devil) was there when all this happened But it was at the hand of men. Was it the Devil that caused it all or are people naturally capable of being horrible??

It's definitely social commentary. For years it was speculated that Jagger was a satanist and occultist; I'm guessing it was because of this song. If I remember correctly, Jagger said in an interview that he's atheist or agnostic, (I don't remember which.)

The stone were accused of glorifying the devil in this song. If you read the lyrics, this song is about the evil inside man, it's not about the devil. The blonde guy is Brian Jones. He was about to be thrown out of the band because of his drug problems. He was the lead guitarist in the band, but his drug abuse issues by this point were so bad he couldn't play. He died, or was murdered depending on which story you believe, not too long after this performance.

His death certificate reads "death by misadventure", allegedly drowned in the pool, but his grounds keeper made a deathbed confession that he got drunk with Brian one night, got mad about something Brian said to him, so he held him under the water until he was dead. There's a 2005 movie about Brian's last few months called 'Stoned' that tells this story. I think it's available on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

This was a tv special called The Rolling Stones Rock n Roll Circus. Also on the show was The Who, Taj Mahal, a group made up of John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards on bass and Mitch Mitchell of Hendrix,on drums. They did a song called Yer Blues. Yoko was also in it doing her insane wailing. The show was never released on tv and nobody saw it till it came out on dvd many years later. The Stones did several songs. The guy with the maraccas was Brian Jones, who originally put the Stones together and gave them the name. He was part of the group until his abuse of drugs made him a liability to the group when he got busted and became unable to travel for some time. The rest of them wanted to tour America but he couldnt leave England. Besides that he wasnt contrinuting to their recordings due to being so messed up. Finally he was fired from the group. They asked him to come for this show and thats why hes there. He also plays some nice slide guitar on another of the tunes . Love in Vain. A few months later he drowned in his swimming pool toward the end of 1969 .

He was sweating because he was standing right under that stage light, the flag was the Union Jack, it was a party not technically a concert, everyone's drinking & other things one might do at a party back in 1969, I was 3yrs old & my mom was a huge Rolling Stones fan, we would listen to their music every Friday night and dance! @@LFRFAMILY - No need to apologize. I made a mistake by calling the shaker things Brian Jones is playing maringas but I think they are called maracas. Maringa is an herbal supplement from the health food store. Brian played guitar in one of the most famous blues bands in London in 1963 but he wanted to form his own rythm and blues band so he placed an ad in the newspaper looking for musicians and Mick and Keith showed up. Brian named the band the Rolling Stones after a Muddy Waters song. Brian was the leader and manager of the band in the early days. Brian could play 30 different musical instruments. He was also one of the first Pop stars and the first Mod with the style of clothes he wore back in the early 1960's. The girls all screamed Brian's s name when the Rolling Stones first got famous because he was so good looking with his long blonde hair. By the time this video was made in December 1968, Brian was a mess from doing acid and he was found dead in his swimming pool 6 months later. Some say he was murdered because he owned the name the Rolling Stones and wanted a lot of money for the name. He was kicked out of his own band by Mick and Keith one month before he died because he was not showing up at the studio for recordings because of his drug addiction. The police did not do a proper investigation of his death perhaps because of the rumour that Princess Margaret was at Brian's house earlier the day he died. She was a neighbor of Brian's and it was rumoured that she may have had an affair with Brian. She had nothing to do with his death but the fact that if she was hanging out with Brian, it would have been scandalous if that had got out in the press because Princess Margaret was the sister of Queen Elisabeth so the police file on Brian's death was sealed for 75 years which is very suspicious. There are also rumours that Brian was murdered as a Satanic sacrifice so the Rolling Stones could become super famous.

Mick said he wrote this after reading the Russian book "Master and Margarita ". Long book about the devil and magic, but really a book about russian politics. Written the way it was so he didn't get thrown in jail

this is from a dvd, "The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Note that there are alot of famous people in that audience such and John Lennon, Yoko Ono, members of The Who, and many others. The Rock and Roll Circus was The Rolling Stones and a whole bunch of other acts that each performed at least one song.....If you try to buy a copy make sure you get one that is playable in the US because the ones that are in the other format are for Europe and if you buy one of those they won't play on a DVD here in the states....my understanding is that they are different in Europe

The man with the shakers died of an overdose shorty after and yes he was a big part of the Rolling Stones and it was very sad when he passed. His name was Brian Jones, rhythm guitarist with the Rolling Stones from their inception in 1962 until his departure. He was 25.
