Hinata lives across the mountain, he came to karasuno after he saw the 'little giant' play for karasuno in nationals on TV. That motivated him so much that he rides his bicycle up and down the mountain twice every single day.

I think you guys are misunderstanding the attitude part, they showcased episode 1 to point to us that BOTH hinata and kageyama have the same drive and attitude to win in volleyball no matter what. Kageyama was not criticizing hinata for his attitude, he was criticizing hinata for his LACK of skills, all he knows is spiking.....if you were participating in a team sport, would you trust a teammate who only knows 1 thing? or a teammate who has practiced at least the basics of volleyball? No fault to hinata since he didn't have a team to teach him the basics but that's basically what kageyama's beef with hinata anyway. Like the comments (you lousy or you suck) nothing about attitude, all about skill.

Thanks for sharing this perspective! We knew in this episode that Kageyama was criticizing Hinata for his lack of skills and not being able to receive. The comments we made about their attitudes were more a continuation of our intro discussion on why Kageyama didn’t seem to like Hinata from the start (outside of his skills) in episode 1 for ex. when he kept mean mugging him. Our bad if the attitude comments were out of place here! They def have the same drive to win, but we see them having different attitudes. Kageyama has a more serious and independent attitude, whereas Hinata is more easygoing and almost naive at times. Tho we also know we could just be thinking too deep, and the mean mugging was just to show the rivalry between the two lol

This and I always believed that Kageyama feels like Hinata is throwing all his talent away by not honing his skills. He has the reflexes, the physical ability, the stamina and then completely flops on technical ability xD

Kageyama wants to win because if you win they can keep playing, he just wants to play as much as he can. It’s not the “Win” that motivates him, it’s that they can have more matches. Both are passionate. They don’t hate each other 😅

That makes sense! Yeah guess we were looking too deep into it since Kageyama seemed like he didn’t like Hinata in the past two episodes, but we’re seeing now it’s not actual hatred lol (especially as we’ve gotten farther along in the show)

Guys, I love the way you analyze the characters and their reasons, many don’t do it and it’s very beautiful to see, so thank you ❤ I'm not going to say anything about the characters' personalities because I think the series alone does a great job showing us the growth of the characters, so be ready for love them. I'm also very happy because Tsukishima my boy already made an appearance, but don't worry, at first we all criticized Tsukishima for his rude attitude. Bickering is actually a part of Kageyama and Hinata's natural state of relationship, lmao. They're not really fighting and Kageyama is just like that with him. (Spoiler) They will have a "real fight" in the future episodes. Another thing, I think it's because Kageyama thinks that Hinata has all that (insane jumping ability, his quick reflexes and speed, the will to win, perseverance etc.) but somehow he's not using it to his full potential. Kageyama spitting his words like that isn't him "hating" Hinata 😹 They're both... just like that. Their relationship is actually very heartwarming (& funny) and as you watch the series, you can see how both of them influence each other in their own ways.
