Very saddening experience. I did eventually come back from it though. After the whole ordeal I never let anyone else fool me ever again. Hopefully the person that took that sword from me is suffering in real life. I may have became a better player because of it, but the person who took my sword deserves a good bit of karma.

This is funny, because the lure you begin to show at 8:10 was attempted on me and I can 100% relate to the strategy they've used to try to bait you. They had some jacked accounts that could probably be bought off a website for 2k USD; they come up with some kind of story like, "Hey a friend and I are doing a skilling competition and I need feathers." You trade them the feathers and they try to add you as a friend to do some raiding and then they try to add you to a discord. Luckily I could see this strategy a 100 miles away and I proceeded to delete and block them as well as tell my whole clan their names. Their discord has been completely inactive ever since.

Regrettably enough, I got caught by the Canifis bank one. After the lured me, they tried to act like they wanted to indict to their syndicate, because "I reacted so well" to losing 1b worth of my items. They showed me their operations. They have a whole discord bot that clocks anyone wearing any high value items, these bots clock several different areas, but ge is the hot spot. They were kind if you help is lure, you'll get all your items back, make so much money real world trading, showed how much they made from real world trading the whole 9. I was like I'll help you lure, just give me my items back first, they didnt and blocked me. People are saying they adjust to the lure after these videos come out, the lure is exactly the same.

Hey man, Big fan. I want you to know I still play OSRS because of your videos. Back in the day I got scammed for near 600m. It was because of the types of scams you talk about in your videos on how the scammers befriend players. In my case they brought me to a place where if you bring in certain items you get booted out and the items drop on the ground. Can't remember where that happened exactly but it did not involve a telegrab. For you to find to at least find one of these guys is the most justice I'll ever get for that. Mad Respect. I quit for awhile after but I kept watchin your vids and got me back into it. Seeing how you work hard to make the game a better place is amazing. The real scams, the ones that actually pull in bank, involve tricking veterans that think they know every little scam and tactic. Maybe they try to bait the scammers and anti-scam. Professional scammers use several layers, some obvious and some discreet. Why would they agree to be in a video about scamming, when that's their main source of income? So that they can bait the anti-scammers and trick them with a relatively new, unknown scam. They're successful because they can stay ahead of the curve and have an extra card up their sleeve. When real money is on the line, it's time to play chess, not checkers.

Like most things in the US, the law differs from state to state. A funny thing I know of is the "one-party consent law" that some states have for voice recording. Basically stating that it's okay to record audio conversations as long as one party is aware of it and agrees to it... guess what? You, the person record, count as a party. They dragged me around the whole f2p map, didnt notice when I banked all my stuff (I was only a sub 10m bank player at the time) and was like 14yo, they took me into the deep wildy, ganked my ass then proceeded to spam my messages for three days straight every time I logged in calling me poor for only having green dhide and an oak shortbow on me, not even arrows. Wow, kinda surreal seeing this guy exposed in one of your videos! He tried this same thing on me but started with buying him grapes, profited like 5m off of him. I got the whip and cash from the setup anti-lure (knowing whole time what was going on) and then he sent me a message on disc completely irrelevant to our current conversation and it was actually supposed to go to another victim. I knew that that was all I was getting from him so I sent back "You don't do this too often do you?" and then was sent to the shadow realm. RS would be so much healthier if people didn't quit to lures :(

I'm at work, 2 more hours before my shift ends and this video rewoked a memory of mine how I got lured 2 times in the past. If you ain't interested in reading all of this, by all means feel free to skip it since it's probably gon' be really lenghty and I need to keep myself awake somehow xd Well, the first time I knew it was a scam like half-way the process, it was pre-EOC and quite frankly I was still a kid, but these lads ran a whole sceme of luring via the good ol' RSMV promises. At the time I had 4,5m which was LUDICROUS back in like 2008? I had the whole Zammy and Sara Rune set and I loved RSMV videos so much! Thanks to RSMV I've found so many bands one of which I still listen to today and I've never missed a single show of them in my country.... all thanks to a stupid 240p, 15fps video of a guy spaming emotes and lyrics of the song. Well anyway we "did a couple of scenes" in his house (mind you it was around 10 guys ... all of them were in it from what I could tell) and then it came. The scene in the wildy. And suprisingly, it went all good! We went really deep and no one attacked me. We then proceeded to teleport into his house so he could "Croma-key us into inaccessable places" (For those who don't know, to "croma-key" your character you need a either all green or all blue background... putting on low-details in your POH makes the grass one solid color of green making it really easy to crop out your character and place it somewhere else in the video editing program). We did that and THEN it came. "Oops I forgot about the volcano scene" which to some might ring the bell... it's almost at the end of Wildy. I was nervous, but what could go wrong right? Mind you these lads spent HOURS with me. HOURS for 4,5m which I suppose at the time was alot of GP. Well... we went over there and they faked another recordings until I was the next who had to do the last part. He wrote a message the contained 5 questions, probably so I would have my both arms on the keyboard and spent really long time answering and it worked. I've not finished writing the second answer and I was eating dirt :^) The second I died all of them blocked me in RS and on Skype where we were discussing things before... Welp and the second time was actually just a really dumb way of me playing while I should've been sleeping :^) I had whole week free, it was almost everyday raining so I was inside the whole time, one night I was super sleepy, but wanted to level up my Fishing and Magic for the quest Swan Song, I was training magic when a guy ran up to me and asked if I had any food. I gave him some and then he added me. We were chatting for a while and when I was done with magic I wanted to do the Fishing part, but he insisted we need to try something out. He was at the GE in his best gear (Whole Armadyl with Aramdyl C'Bow, all the fancy accessories, etc.) and he said he's going to do Corp Beast. He needed just couple more GP since he stated his last GP bought him his C'Bow. The good (stupid) guy i was I gave him 100k for supplies to which he responded, "How much GP do you have anyway?" I showed him my whole cash stack (around 10m) and he said, that if I should give him my 10m it would help him greatly with gear upgrades. As a reward he was about to give me his Arma C'bow until he buys his upgrades and tons and tons of sweet talking. Once I saw the Armadyl Crossbow in the trade window I hit accept without a second thought. To those ... who might know where this is going. Yes ... it wasn't Armadyl Crossbow, it was Hunters' Crossbow. As I was SUPER tired I didn't hover over the item nor did I look at the price at the top. I just saw the image (It might've even been noted, but I can't remember) and yeh, that's it. Certainly not really elaborate way to get scammed, but it sure made me much wiser to be paying more attention :^) As my friend said, everyone "needs" to get scammed once in their lifetime in Runescape, or else it wouldn't be THE expirience this game offers. Well, I should end this on a brighter note, so to everyone reading all of this I thank you, hopefully my ramble was "readable" and without shitload of non-sense. People who want to give you stuff in RS will just do it, they wont have you run around and download all these strange addons. If you get a strange feeling, just dont do it, who cares if they get mad. I cant tell you how many times over the years ive been approached by these people. Just ignore them, change worlds, report them, whatever you feel you need to do. They will say ANYTHING to get you to follow through with their lure. DO NOT TRUST THEM. AGAIN...if someone wants to help you in RS , they simply will.

LIMALEMILIT was luring people at the Camelot bank teleport in PvP worlds about 8 months ago. I was calling him out in front of the people he was luring. He told me to add him and check PMs. He told me that I should stop because he "wouldn't want anything to happen to me or my family" and then threatened to SWAT me. I still can't believe he isn't banned after I'd reported him many times. I know his account is still the same because I still see it log in occasionally.

Can anyone point to what law says that you can't share someone else's internet communication for profit? What I know is it depends on the state, so if this guy is outside the US then anything is fare game. If they are In the US then I really don't think there are even laws for online privacy. in my state you can share conversation on phone as long as one person is aware they're being recorded. this should be totally legal since you're using the internet, and there is no expectation of privacy on the internet.

Jakey07 runs an entire ring of scammers and lurkers, that have scout's on worlds to check your GP. They then try to get you to do something like buy molten glass etc, most this accounts are hacked or bought. Multiple people are in on this and they spend days and weeks trying to get your trust.

Someone I know fell prey to a scammer when trying to buy a name. He was worried they linked accounts or whatever so they can get back in later. He made sure he did not have any linked accounts, went into his account and logged out of all active sessions, has a bank pin and auth, changed passwords. OMG That's the same guy that got me. What he does is he will pretend to help you lure like get you to go to a different world. They are actually in a discord call making the plays. They'll have you pick up the items they drop, then 30mins later try to keep in contact with you so that way nothing is sus. Then he will proceed to tell you he found another scammer. Making you hop to a pvp world and go to lunar isle. Then he will tell/show you which tiles are safe and which are not. Then an account spam trades you, he then proceeds to tell you to click the bottom one, when you do it takes you out of the safezone. Very clever scam. I unfortunately fell for this and Lost T-bow. Glad he is finally getting exposed. I hope this is referring to that player "Jakey07" because he is the actual scammer. He actually has kept his photo since this happened 7 months ago

That "Hey, buy me something" is a lot older than people think, it came out around the same time as the "Trimming armour" scam. They would give you an arbitrary amount of gp, and their friend would be selling the thing they want but for more than going rate, victim would feel obliged to buy the stuff, so they would buy it, then Scammer 1 would say, Im not paying that much for it, just give me my money back.
