From my own experience as a child playing Starcraft 1 you naturally started panicking when you heard the nuke incoming. So you would frantically search the red dot on all your expos but never find it because you went into full "Omg, omg. omg I gonna die!". I guess that's what happened to him.

I'm fairly sure the delay after the gg was to give his opponent the chance to gg back. Didn't work, though perhaps it was because the opponent was too stunned that the nuke worked again to recover and reply in time.

Some may laugh about the double probe proxy. But analyzing your weaknesses and thinking of methods and strategies to work around and/or negate them is part of improving yourself. I think this ties very much into the entire IODIS series where people should just admit that they suck and improve upon it instead of saying something is imba.

Hey, ExStreamIsolation here. Cheers for the feedback Harstem! I always fall apart against meching Terrans so thanks for your explanations about the proper response. I was also not aware that when you are about to be nuked, there is a little red dot on the map, that is definitely something I will keep in mind. Hopefully next time I will suck slightly less. Also, regarding your final analogy - I do in fact have a dog. And I have in fact left my food unattended and had the dog steal it :( ETA: couple more thoughts - I did think disruptors were a reasonable response against tanks, so good to know that's not actually the case. As for the reason it took so long to leave, I was flustered and kept hitting the wrong key 😂

small suggestion for IODIS, O captain my captain: when picking apart a replay, it'd be much better if you give advice that's relevant to the league. I get that the build order doesn't make sense, timing is god awful, but those things and a few more are unavoidable for players in NA/EU gold league, it just doesn't make sense that you expect diamond players and below to have perfect builds and stuff. It'd be more helpful for them to get decision-making advice, general advice like scouting tips, what to look for when you scout, how to react with basic scouted information... Also tips for playing faster/improve gameplay/mechanics at lower leagues is also super helpful.

When the opponent gets nuked, do they get that nuke indicator on the minimap (like the one at 19:40)? Or is all they get the red dot? Because there really isn't enough contrast between the ground and the red dot at 19:50

Hey Harstem, I am red green colorblind and can't see nuke dots. (No pun, 10% of male population suffers from color blindness). Especially in this certain case, I even stopped the video and checked for the dot. Do you have any tips / SC2 settings, how to see the dot "better"?

there is a colorblind mode in the menu (menu -> options -> colors -> colorblindmode). maybe that can help you out. or playing at lower res, making the warning more visible as it stands out on the terrain. hope that helps

Colorblind Mode is already on and has following Changes: -build Grid Changes from Green - Red to Green - Red x Icons when you cant build there -fixed Player colors. You cant Change your color to White or whatever you want - less Terrain (or higher Terrain opacity maybe) in minimap Sadly, Nuke dot is still Red. Lower res might help tho

Hey Harstem, the correct spelling of lose, loses, losses is... Not loose lol. Loses as a verb as in, "Harstem gets mald as he loses his mind." Losses denoting multiples of the loss, as in, "Harstem bummed out about mmr after losses vs 5k Terrans." I hope this clearification doesnt make people loose their minds, because that would be worrisome, the implication being that their collective brains are being dislodged from their skulls.

So, I see another commenter suggesting that LSO is a cat, given how he loves to chase red lights on the ground. An excellent hypothesis, but I think LSO is actually a trained pigeon. Pigeons are well known for their intelligence, specifically their lack of it, and I think LSO has a similar IQ. More importantly, back when the military was inventing missiles they were having trouble with how to guide them. They discovered that pigeons could be trained to peck a tiny dot, and that they could strap a pigeon into a missile with a tiny rotating disk (sort of like a weird steering wheel I guess), and if the missile diverted from the course they wanted it on, the disk would rotate a little, and the pigeon would peck at a dot on it until the disk rotated back into position. Sadly, they couldn't come up with a way to keep the pigeons from suffocating in the missile or dying of exposure, so they eventually wound up using computer chips instead. I think LSO is one of those pigeons. To this day he remains obsessed with the military and plays Starcraft to remind himself of that time he was almost selected to pilot a missile. But whenever he sees a small dot appear on his screen, the old training kicks in and he is compelled to attack it.

That sucks and i understand why it would be tough for you but you can't take into account every possible problem a person can have when making a product. The nukes are fun so of course the devs are gonna add it despite the fact they alienate a small tiny portion of players. Also there's an audio queue as well so you can tell the nuke is coming with that instead.

I know they can't always take everyone into account, I don't' even play the game just like watching it was just pointing out that making fun off someone you don't know because they didn't see the red dot might make for akward situation.
