The "reverse cone method" prevents the dog from using his front paws to pull off the muzzle and also from using his front paws to grab at your hands when you're grooming his face. This method was shown on Girl with the Dogs in an episode called "Today I groomed an alligator snapping turtle."

Great Groom!!! It's nice to see that even though he is difficult you didn't give up on him. Grooming is not an easy profession. Dogs don't always cooperate. I appreciate your dedication to him to make him more comfortable and 🥰. To me when he came in he reminded me of a old English sheep dog.😂 ❤ from Bucks county Pennsylvania.😊🐕🐾🐾

The Transformation of Charlie: WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW! It is so relaxing to watch you sculpture a mess into a Masterpiece! Charlie looks SO CUTE! I always love how you explain what you are using or why you might be cutting a certain way! I loved you clipping Charlie's long nails: I’m glad you were able to cut them short without blood loss [I wondered about the length of his quicks.] I just started watching you recently & although I enjoy your entire grooming process, I especially love the tightness on the feet! Your grooms have a special excellence about them, always dog specific. Thank you so much for going after those hairs that many dogs have going into their mouths!!! Charlie came in with a multitude of hair everywhere, so you had lots to work with & performed another outstanding groom! Great skills, Brittany! Another wonderful presentation. Things I just love about how you groom. I love how you really wash the dog. You really scrub their face and body. I love how your loving to the dog but firm not letting them get away with anything. You explain things . I have learned from you. Charlie sure is a cute little dog under all that hair.. Great job!💕

Enjoyed watching another one of our videos. Flat lined on the table...that's a good one. Thank you for describing the life of a groomer--you hit the nail on the head. People don't understand the amount of hard work that is put into the profession. When you mentioned hitting your nail with the brush, I got goose bumps..I did that a few times myself, it HURTS. Considering the trouble Charlie gave you, he turned out great. Thanks

Charlie looks sooooo cute!!! Sorry he bit u but he took advantage that u didn’t hv tools in ur hands. U wr defenseless in his eyes. Shame tht he came in looking so ratted. I kno u don’t judge but there’s no excuse. If one has a long-haired dog, there r responsibilities tht go along wth tht pet. U always do a great job! The bow tie was a nice touch!! Well done!!!💗🌷🤗🐶

You started out with a very scruffy but cute Charlie. After his bath and blow dry, he was extra fluffy and so cuddly looking. All that fluff just sliding off and those legs.... Hairy to lovely and tidy sturdy little legs.... Not the scruffy clydesdale horse messy feathers he came in with. Then the BIG challenge, safely grooming all that fur off of face, chin, head etc... What a difference in a dog... Had I not watched this through I would believe it wasn't the same Charlie. I think we have to call him Charles now. Oh forgot about the nails, dear god a sparrow hawk or osprey would be proud of those talons for fishing etc. I love the way you speak to him, exactly the way we do with our own dogs...... and you get the same reaction... Talk to the paw as the ears ain't listening..... Thank you for Charlie xxx

OMG... The dog has LEGS!!! In the beginning it looked like Charlie had little stubs for legs ... So seemed really short but body hefty. Amazing transportation.❤

Bahahahahahaha! She went from attempting to reasoning with him to him being smooth hung up in a jump cut! Even then, he STILL tried to cover his front paw with his back paw 😂🤣 Bro, she tried her best to give you the benefit of the doubt up until that point 🤷🏾‍♂️ These dogs are something else 🤦🏾‍♂️

Side Note: I’m glad you can find something to laugh at while you’re at work. It’s the little things that keep morale up in stressful situations, that’s for sure.. Also- “The ugly dog bandana” thing makes so much sense looking back at the ones my childhood dog came home with sometimes 😂

If you put the cone on backwards on the dog this will stop the dog from using his front paws to grab at you. This was shown on Girl with the Dogs.

Charlie looks adorable after his groom! If he comes to your shop more regularly, I think he could be trained to be a really good boy. All those hot spots must have been very uncomfortable, as well as those overgrown nails. The time he spent in your shop certainly improved his quality of life - at least for a while.

I think if you’re not going to keep your dog brushed, the fur should be shaved anyway.

People need to realize that it’s better to spend $50 every 6 to 8 weeks than to spend $100 plus if you don’t take them in for 3 to 6 months and don’t groom them properly. #IJS #ShihTuzOwnerOnAFixedIncome

Watching this makes me laugh at ur group of groomers. I rescued a 1yr old shih tzu he has nvr been aggressive or growled, shown teeth but he is terrible with grooming. He just doesn't cooperate so I guess he'd get the ugly bandana too.

Even though the groomer did a nice job the dog is small and the grooming procedure was too rough, especially when the groomer was trimming the small dog's face
