It took only 1 draw by arjun to fall below gukesh's performance... Just board 1 v board 3 things...

It was a great strategy not to play Ding. Wei yi had beaten gukesh earlier this year in tie breaks at Tata Steel Masters, so psychologically gukesh was under pressure.

And now ding is under double pressure

i hope ding will get soon, i don't wanna See a weak ding in world championship, then every one will start saying “gukesh just got lucky”@@bullymaguire8266

Though wei yi lost to gukesh in tata steel classical match and ding have defeated Gukesh twice in tata steel. But I guess china went with the best 4 players it had yesterday. Ding is in serious slump.

Congratulations Gukesh and India, 7/7 is very Fischer like! Personally, I think Ding must be struggling somewhat? He's definitely not playing at his height like back in 2018.

GUKESH 2780.2 : " Never resign untill u have knights on board" what an amazing day .. watched the streams for 5.40 hrs and what a brilliant moves in a matter of minutes.. like last 14/16 moves were all engine suggested best moves.. some were the only moves to play.. i mean .. both players played INCREDIBLY WELL .. I STARTED PLAYING CHESS SINCE COVID AND MAN IM IN LOVE 💕 WITH THIS GAME.. IT WAS SO AMAZING TO SEE ANALYSIS ON FIDE STREAMS AND HOW BRILLIANTLY BOTH WERE PLAYING SO PERFECT... Future WORLD ♟️ CHAMPION 🏆 Gukesh in the making for sure...

Good coverage. I know it is really difficult to cover the permutations and combinations of the variations of each move of a game. However, imo, you missed the full explanation of the 2 great moves of this match. You missed the King d7 of Wei which was the only correct move at that situation, and which was so tough to see that even GMs and a super GM with the help of engine in the commentary couldn't explain why. And then you missed the incredibly accurate in time pressure King d2 of Gukesh which was again incredibly hard to see and the only critically accurate move at that situation even though by that time he was winning. Both played very accurate moves in the endgame in time pressure and both had some inaccuracies. It's just that Wei made some more inaccuracies and Gukesh had an insane endgame capitalizing on those inaccuracies with him playing the critical accurate moves himself. As I have said before somewhere else, Gukesh's endgame spoke for itself.

Wei Yi blundering at the end is just that. These players are worn out. I am nowhere near these guys and I knew getting the queen was the best approach.
