@@paulmorris8762 You're not wrong. I provided security for Colin at a concert he played in N.B. in '91- he walked the aisles amongst the audience with his guitar (wireless), behind his head, playing William Tell Overture. Crazy. And to think he had to audition to get the 'permit' to busk in a Toronto subway station, where he was ultimately 'discovered'.

Angel Eyes is another great song by Jeff, actually all his songs are great, and he played with a lot of other great guitarists. (He just plays a regular guitar) That’s Dr John on piano. Jeff Healey lost his eyesight to cancer when he was one. His Dad gave him a guitar when he was three years old and his arms were to short to hold the guitar the usual way. No braille just amazing talent. He tried playing it the normal way later in life but went back to having it on his lap as that felt more comfortable. The gentleman on the piano is Doctor John who you should check out as well Cheers

If you noticed, th right hand was playing a guitar style, the left hand is almost like piano motion. Jeff was adopted as a baby and started playing the guitar at age three. Lost both eyes to rare cancer and was plagued by reoccurring tumors over his life finally succumbing to lung cancer at age 41. In his short life, he accomplished more than most do in an average life span. His world was music and had a huge record collection. The style of playing the guitar on your lap is often used by artists that play slide guitar. It’s a blues style that uses a tube like object on one finger that slides along the neck of the guitar. Jeff perform this technique a couple of times. Google give a more musical explanation I think. In any case, he was an exceptional man and is greatly missed. RIP. ❤️

He is the prime example of learning to adapt to one's situation.

This performance ALWAYS brings me to tears. It’s one of the purest representations of the power of music on so many levels. You have a man who’s sight was taken from him…yet he had an unshakable vision. You have a stripped down band unit of guys who are all monsters in their own right and who’s souls are connected and speaking with one another on another plane. You have it rooted in the blues…need we say more about that? And you have the evidence that music connects us all regardless of our differences or color. Lastly you have some of the most blistering guitar work ever caught on camera. This makes the hair on my neck stand up and appreciate what a gift Jeff was to us all. RIP brother!

I used to be in the business in the mid seventies through the nineties. Standard guitar kids. I met Jeff in 95' at the airport in Vancouver. When l said hello he was actually surprised l recognized him. I said Jeff, your one of the greatest guitarists in the world. The Bass player gave me a wink and a smile and lll always remember that day and Jeff was the most gentle person lve ever met. There eill never be another like him. R.I.P. ✌. 🎶

Probably the third concert I ever went to in my life was Jeff Healey in Richmond, VA. It was fantastic! I feel privileged to have seen and heard him play.

He was always on, but even more-so here because this show had this house band, some of the greatest musicians of that era, or any era. They take it to another level and Jeff leads them to the promised land! Jeff also played jazz trumpet and jazz guitar. There are a lot of great guitar players, but Jeff has that extra fire that very few have...
