I think it's important to understand the seller and where you buy your item ie very cheap off a market at way below rrp price, it's more than likely going to be a fake. I always buy my watches from recommended retailers, high street brand names I can trust and have some comeback if I'm scammed. By the way a fake casio is easy to spot, they put way less effort into making them, the quality is clearly substandard and the item looks and feels like something out of a Christmas cracker. Plus the second hand market is flooded with fakes. A genuine casio feels like a quality product with a very good finish to a high standard.

The difference between a fake casio and a fake rolex are poles apart, the fake casio will be far inferior and much easier to spot because way less work is put into making it authentic looking as the price point and therefore profit potential is much less. I've handled a fake casio and it was so clearly fake, even the packaging and box was easy to tell it wasn't right. On the other hand a fake rolex can be so close to authentic even some watch 'experts' will struggle to tell them apart. I'm not talking the £40 fake rolex that comes in cellophane wrapping and weighs less than a casio and has a quartz movement, I'm talking about the 'premium' quality copies that look and feel like the real deal.

China makes really good copy watches. I know because I lived there for three years. There is a five story building in Shenzhen near the border to Hong Kong. This entire building sells nothing but copy everything. It’s insane. It’s such good business there that they even have a seafood restaurant on the top floor! Sometimes the police do raids. Then you see all these merchants quickly hiding the fake goods up into the ceiling. I have seen this. It’s hilarious. They will move some of the ceiling panels to hide the stuff. Then when the raid is over they put everything back. The Chinese are so good at copying things. Tons of these fake watches. It’s really crazy to get taken for this amount of money.
