I’m a silversmith/goldsmith, this video shows how much work is put into our craft, but even then, there’s a lot that only another metalsmith can appreciate, like how well the soldering work is on these links. They make it look easy to twist that huge chain without it breaking. MUCH RESPECT 🫡

Brilliant! The latch is fantastic. Beautiful. Wonderful to see master jewelers at work. I make some silver jewelry, but nothing like that! It's interesting to know that with the exception of some electric services like the flex shafts, drills, etc., jewelry making is pretty much the same as it has been for millennia. When you see this process and you see jewelry made hundreds of years ago without the electrics, you really get a sense of the craftsmanship involved. Stunning video! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful chain and awesome craftsmanship. I found it interesting how after you linked the chain & started forming it out, it had that copper look to it. Then the video went to a gold tone. I would've also liked to learn how you got it back to it's gold color from then.

A Cuban made the right way, meaning the manufacturing process, as here, in your video, mean the links are WORK HARDENED, this is important, many Jewellers now to save time, like Trax, use CAST links..which are weak, in a crystalline form and not work hardened, and not how a cuban should be made..yours, and a few other companies, are the correct way

Is mandrel size 2x link wire diameter? I want to try this. (Not in Au, I have some scrap #10Cu laying around and silver solder, I guess a lot of annealing will be in order to beat work hardening. What is the chain embedded in for filing? I have some Roman Black casting wax but I think the heat of filing might melt it unless I keep it in ice water or something?
