🤼‍♂️ Collector 1: Wrestling Wonders!
Our first collector brings in a treasure trove of loose wrestling action figures, including gems from the legendary LJN line. Brace yourself for a nostalgia trip as he unveils two mint-on-card Dukes of Hazzard action figures, rare and coveted by collectors worldwide. Dive deep into the world of pro wrestling with the exclusive micro brawlers from a wrestling crate, designed for a truly select market. But that's not all - prepare for a blast from the past as he showcases an impressive collection of MOTU (Masters of the Universe) action figures that will take you back to the golden era of toys.
🛍️ Deal or No Deal?
Watch as our expert negotiators assess the value of these vintage treasures and determine if a deal is in the cards for this collector. Will he part with his beloved items, or will he walk away with his priceless collection intact? Tune in to find out!
🚀 Collector 2: Unboxing Rarity!
The excitement doesn't stop there - our second collector enters the scene with a jaw-dropping lineup of still-in-the-box treasures. Marvel at the Wheeled Warriors Battle Base and the Rambo water gun M60, preserved in their original packaging. Explore the world of Batman with a unique assortment of cowls, including a DIY creation that adds a personal touch to the Dark Knight's legacy.
💸 Trade Woes: Overpaying for Rarity
However, not every collector's journey has a happy ending. Discover the heartbreak as our team informs the second collector that, despite the rarity of his sealed toys, the trade won't be possible due to an overestimation of their value. It's a tough pill to swallow, but it's all part of the toy collecting game.

Probably but sometimes niche stuff all of a sudden becomes desirable to people who are tired of mainstream collecting. Those Rambo toys specifically look like something that rarely stayed in the box or survived after a kid was done with them. I vaguely remember that Wheel Warrior show so he might be better off just giving it to his kid to play with.

I’ve overpaid for items in my collection more than once. It’s the thrill and adrenaline of seeing something you once owned and wanting it back, along with the fear of missing out if you don’t buy right then and there, that takes precedence. I do say the toy market is weird right now. I blame world affairs both abroad and distant for the lack of interest in vintage toys right now. Inflation being a big part of the problem. People aren’t splurging for nostalgia right now.

I myself collect for the hobby and nostalgia but as well as investment and most importantly to hand my collection of toys and comics down to my kids. Was great to see the Wheeled Warriors base. My Father designed it and I believe did the box art as well back when he worked for Mattel. As a Kid he had brought home a prototype version and I played with that thing for years. Ever time I have seen it in the case it has reminded me of those days. Was cool to see a boxed one come in. I mainly watch to see if my Dads work comes in (he did a lot of MotU as well). I have told him he should consider selling you some of his original designer gouache box art and technical drawings. Though I might want to keep some to remember his contributions to the toy industry.

Don't worry, we've all been stung at one time or another. I remember in the 1980's buying lots of red box Matchbox Models Of Yesteryear for up to $14.95 each. All unopened so packed them away hoping one day I'd hit the jackpot. I'm in Australia. Flat out getting $5-$6 each now and that's if they can sell. Sold the lot off real cheap just to get rid of them. Could have held on to them hoping the market would turn around, but realised I'd be 6 feet under by then.

I see many people in the comments of these videos complaining about how 50% of value is a rip off. I think it’s fair given that you’re selling your items to someone on the spot. It’s well worth it if you have a bulk of items that you would have to list and sell individually through time. For example, you sell 10 items valued at 100 each equalling a value of 1000. After eBay fees and shipping you’re looking at about 800 roughly give or take. Giving up 300 bucks for the convenience of getting the cash or credit on the spot vs waiting for your items to individually sell, run to the post office 10 times? That’s a fair deal to me. I love the videos! Keep it up guys!

This is a general comment: You really need to sell your stuff yourself, otherwise you are really never going to get a fair price from dealers. Many have an attitude that they are doing you a favor by taking it off your hands. This one guy I came across, would give you only 30% of the value when the collectible /toy was released, not the appreciated value or sold to value found on E-bay. I think everyone understands that resellers/ shops need meat left on the bone, but there is a point of being ridiculous. They are hoping that you are in a situation, where you need the money and are desperate. It is better to take the time and sell the items yourself in the end you will at least did not give away your collectibles for pennies on the dollar.

Prob pretty good, whatever they had it stock skyrocketed at that time, as long as they bought things at the right price and made at least +50% on stuff im sure they are fine. The challenge for these business models are is curating your stock. Most stores you have suppliers and you just order new stuff and it shows up and they keep adding products. For these guys getting these collections and scouring ebay for deals could be the real tough part of keeping the gravy train rolling. Sometimes a hot market can be good for these owners as more people will want to liquidate around those times, if their collection isn't worth much they'll keep it. If they are profiting on their entry cost they'll be more inclined to sell or get credit.

I was wondering, where do you look up all the variety of toys that come in? can't just be eBay...... I would like to learn how to evaluate toy's better.

it really is just ebay. Been doing this kind of thing for years and everyone just uses ebay. you can't really use multiple outlets because prices can very wildly between website. like amazon is about 20 to 30% more expensive for retro toys and game VS Ebay. And Ebay is just all around more popular for this kind of stuff so often times its the only place to find listening of some items.

M-14 came before the M-16, now we use M-4 (5.56mm). M-60 "The Pig" came before the M-249 (7.62mm).

17:08 That's the one you're referring to, right? Could be the 2009 Target exclusive Legacy Collection one, a Saga Collection version...or even one of the newer Vintage Collection ones. There's been so many releases of the true 1/18 scale movie accurate X-Wings.

Just my opinion, but when you ask a honest customer like that guy "what did you think these were worth?" And they tell you "I just wanted to know what they are worth" you should immediately tell them "well, what they are worth isn't necessarily what I can pay you for this"

Haha what are you even talking about? It's like all of you people don't have any common sense... Bro, you are selling to a B U S I N E S S. You are going to a store, a vendor, a business and you expect them to pay you exactly what a figure is 'worth'? Uhm... how exactly is he going to make any money/profit? If a figure is 'worth' 100$ he is not going to pay you anything close to that. lmao You maybe get like 50-60% of what its 'worth'. Maybe if you walk in to the store with some kind of 'Holy Grail' like the 'Wonder Bread He-Man' or some super-duper rare Figure/Collectible you will get some decent amount of money - like 80-90% of what its worth. Otherwise you can't expect to get top dollar for your stuff, when your stuff is sold all over ebay for differente prices. Just sell your stuff on eBay if you want to get some money for it. I do the same and i always get close to what its worth. Can't expect a figure worth 100$, with 50 of them on eBay, to sell it for 100$. Make offers available and accept decent offers.

man I dont know if you live under a rock or what. but trading in toys and stuff for quick cash has been a thing for a long time. your local retro toy shop works the same way. how do you think they get product for the store. Its not a rip off. These people can say no and then sale it on ebay them selves. but no they make their own choices. and Toy federation has a business to run. retro toy shops wouldn't exist if they gave full market for products. but yes this is just like a pawn shop. its part of the collecting hunt man. often these people use these trade in moments to trade up. hardly ever do people take only cash. They come in with a mission to get a grail item or a harder to find item for alot of common toys that they bring in.
