This has to be the most tactically brilliant game of the year. Rook sacrifice, Queen sacrifice and Knight sacrifice to take the enemy king on a walk and checkmate it in the centre of the board... The plan of Rxe4 to open up the diagonal for the bishop so that Bc4 check is possible... The queen sac to get the enemy king into the open supported by the deadly bishop pair... And even the whole game after that: a knight sac (also another rook gambit) and finally trapping his opponent's queen. it's just brilliant!

I saw Qxf7 kxf7, bc4+ kf6, nxe4+ when you asked us to see if we could find it and I think I could calculate to mate if and get this right if I was given it in a tactics puzzle, but what makes this so impressive is that Wesley probably saw this so much further in advance and I would never have even thought to allow the fork, although sacrificing the rook did look good to me because of how strong the bishop and knight are in that situation. He also probably saw all of the variations if black tries to complicate, and that's why he's a 2700+ super GM, former member of the 2800 club. So good!

@@micahbarbee8636 your argument makes no sense. If the defending side plays perfect the whole game there is no brilliancy to win. It's just a draw. So every brilliancy is either itself a bad move that was played on purpose and not exploited, or the losing side has already blundered giving the opportunity for a winning brilliancy.
