I like this channel but I missed some things in the interview: 1. Did he use his own money or borrow it to start the business? 2. What website did he use to find the landowner? 3. How much does it cost to rent the land per season? 4. What was his method of advertising to get customers? 5. Does he live close to the site to manage it himself? He said the landowner just greeted people. Thank you.

1. he used his own money 2. Facebook groups 3. I believe for privacy and negotiation reasons he did not say. 4. Airbnb & Facebook groups 5. For his personal reasons i won't answer this question but i do believe in the video he said the landowners assists him heavily in running the business. I think i earned a subscribe? lol, hope this info helps. Thanks for watching, leaving a comment, and supporting the channel.

Several years ago I set up a tipi in a lovely site on my property, primarily for my personal use. However, when I invited guests I found some that were not used to the outdoors had issues with 'the outdoors...insects, night sounds, porta potty...also, I live in a humid climate and my tipi had mildew after the second year. Even though I cleaned it there was residual staining that freaked out some people...how do you deal with these concerns with tipi/tent camping? It would be expensive, and in my opinion wasteful, to replace the tipi after a couple years.

Great video!! The first part was very informative. Finding the right sight is crucial! I would call that stage 1. Stage 2 ( which this video did not address) is management…. The owner of the land is only greeting the guests there is a ton of stuff that can arise with guests that you need to have resources available in order to make it work . Cleaning that tent , making sure everything is in good working condition, storing the supplies etch are those “ small “ details that are usually not addressed in most videos . Overall I believe Glamping Is still a very profitable business IF you know what you doing and you have the right team to help you get there.

Right off the bat, I'm wondering how this will play out over time. Yes, a tiny home has a higher cost of entry but it could, in theory, last over 100 years. I own a 15k yurt that I have lived in for 15 years. About the total lifespan of a yurt canvas. But the yurt has a professional floor and is suspended way off the ground. I just wonder how problematic cleaning and storage of a canvas tent will be over time. Which brings up the point that in a temperate climate, tent camping is going to be only 6 months a year. Maybe this is addressed later on in the video....I just started it😁
@KeepItTiny

Thanks for giving us your thoughts, especially since you know what you're talking about from experience. I think your points are very valid. This method of starting up a business is the fastest simplest route. I think its great to start and allows you to drum up more capital for future investments. He will have to shut down in the coldest months of the year though.

Love your videos and the willingness of folks to share information. I have a question if you don't live on-site or near the site what do you recommend for laundry service. Would you recommend not having furniture at all and just offering a raised cot, floor sleeping, etc the yurt or tent? Looking to invest in land regardless of starting a glamping business or not but it's a few hours from where I live.
@KeepItTiny
@KeepItTiny 2 жыл бұрын
For laundry use a local wash and fold. So you or someone you pay grabs the laundry and takes it to the cleaners, drops it off, then picks it up when its done. You should have 10 sets of sheets so you only have to do this once every 10 guests. For furniture, the more you add and the nicer you can get the place the more you can charge but also the more headache it is for you to upkeep everything. There is no right or wrong answer here. Its all about how much you can take. Thanks for leaving a comment and supporting the channel !!!

I love nature and want my own land for weekend getaways, and want to have my own Glamping business 👩‍💼, I’m looking for land upstate ny and super thankful for you giving out amazing content!! I’m new to the channel!! And looking to learn! Question 🙋🏻‍♀️ I have a full time job, found some land I really like. I’m nervous to move forward bc I don’t have the upfront capital, would it be better to wait on the opportunity or take a personal loan to purchase it? I have a job to pay the monthly until I get it up and running. I’m nervous to miss out on a great opportunity!?! What would u do?
@KeepItTiny
@KeepItTiny 2 жыл бұрын
If you take out a loan for the land it mean you (probably) won’t have the funds to build on it after purchase. Depending on what you’re looking to build I would wait. There’s a ton more things to pay for when you own land that people don’t think about like keeping the grass cut, paying property tax and other local taxes, etc. I’m not telling you it’s impossible, I think the opposite it’s very do-able! BUTTTT I just get nervous and worried about people taking out loans to buy land. You know your finances better than me though - so it may work out for you. Hope this helps!!!!

I promise his business is doing more than just "fine" hitting the numbers he's hitting with the deal he has in place. You aren't taking into account what his deal structure is for the land in comparison to his nightly rate. For a ramp-up period, with his business just starting off, he's doing phenomenal and will only go up as he accrues good ratings and a reputation.
