5 screw games by a certain time were stopped because I think it was easier for people to swap out the game boards, then return a more expensive game with a board of less expensive game. Of course stores and Nintendo caught on, and Stores changed their return policy and Nintendo changed the cart set up that required a special tool to open the cart.

How do the percentages work for the store, he trades in for $900 - shop marks that up for $2700? Is that about right
@catastrophetheendismeow857111 ай бұрын
that’s over 100 % mark up. They pay around 60 to 70% of the valve ( 70% if it’s credit ) , so mark it up around 30 / 40% to sell it around market price. so it’s more like $1300 they will make from that.
@thecookies610911 ай бұрын
50 to 60% mark up is reasonable depending on size of store etc as employees need paying and other stuff like rent (unless you own building out right), and keeping the customers cold/warm , keeping the place clean etc.

Collecting NES games this rare is weird to me. Such an old console, everything can be played on a fuckin cell phone let alone PC emulators, why in the hell would someone put like, $100,000 on a collection like that.... I get if the guy's a millionaire and it's a luxury collection. Totally respect that. But I'm a guy with 1000+ games, I collect EVERYTHING, beanie babies, pokemon cards, sports cards, memorabillia, retro games, retro PCs, retro consoles, digital game items, hot female friends (just some humor there lol), and even I think this is absolutely insane lol. But I do respect it, if this is what his passion is, who the fuck are any of us to judge? If he simply grew up on Nintendo 8 bit and plays the hell out of these games on real hardware, than fuck yeah, do it brother! For me I'd much rather get all the main games and ignore the 'variants' like this. I mean, he's buying it because it has 5 pins. You tell that to a non collector, and they'd tell you you're absolutely insane lol. But I get it.
