Dwight has always been underrated and not given the credit he deserves but I do have to admit some of it he brings on himself. The Van Gundy interview...tell me that wasn't cringe as hell. Remember after he won the finals he got exposed for cheating? Remember not even a year later he got accused of rape by a dude? Then he tried claiming we're hating on him for being gay? Like nah the gay thing ain't a problem it's the rape we want addressed Dwight..lol.

I personally think Dwight got bullied after his Orlando days. Shaq did a 180 on him after he donned the Superman logo. The Lakers had a guard favored coach, but because it's LA media, they blamed Dwight for the failure. After that, I think age and his drive just sort of disappeared.

The nba changed, traditionally centers are supposed to receive the ball and score, block and rebound. But now they are expected to play like a guard. They must be capable of taking threes, pass the ball around, set up screens and assist.

Underrated? Half the internet thinks this guy walks on water. He literally disappeared when his athletism started to fade. He had little offensive game other than rebound and dunk. Same thing happened with Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and a dozen other guys.
@legittaco58993 ай бұрын
People don't disrespect people like Dennis Rodman for his reliance on of athleticism for rebounding and defensive purposes. Those two things require a ton of skill to master, it's just that athleticism is required to reach the highest prestige in those categories. Obviously, his ability will fade more once he gets old, but pretending like athleticism automatically makes you a 3X DPOY winner is naive. Athleticism shouldn't be used as an excuse to discount a players' high IQ and intangibles.

This was the case for the entire league back before the three point shot took over the game. Fast break basketball was always the first option, even when using the triangle for setting up your offense. “Showtime” in the 80s was when the shift towards that style made the game more fun to watch.

Dwight wasn't to wrong though. Kobe in retrospect isn't as clutch or as great a shooter as people think. Kobe was pretty inefficient at times . H won though too which helps your winning player image. But idk I would take steph curry over Kobe any day . Steph curry shits on Kobe in efficiency. Kobe would often put up 25 shots for 30 points. Thats not that great. Alot of players can put up 30 on 25+ shots . Curry needs maybe 15 sometimes lol. Very rarely would Kobe Hava a point count that doubled his shots taken
