I produced this song for Warners in 2005 - signed to Warners by Craig Aaronson (RIP). Daryl wrote this song on the way to the studio - it wasn't something we even knew about until he sang it over the phone (NOT AN IPHONE YET!!) to me. I immediately told Craig we were recording it. He thought I was crazy. But it was so obvious! The organ in the intro is a vintage Vox Continental and is throughout the song - a bit of retro there on which is now a retro song! The drummer sang the amazing harmonies in the chorus that are great secondary hooks. It was done really fast - at Bay 7 Studios in Valley Village

Howard Benson thanks so much for the insight man. I’d love to hear more about the songs recorded with Dan the Automator too. There seems to almost be two albums going on - the electronic side with guitars added and the more britpop/full band tracks, but it all works really well together - were you present for the whole thing? Aren’t the best songs generally written super quick and just flow out?! Great work man!

Jesus is God, and He died and rose again, the only people on earth who deny this are Muslims, not even atheist historians dispute that Lord Jesus died and that His remains cannot be located. Very ignorant, Muslims will go out of their way to deny this but they won't go out of their way to warn people about sin and atheism. If you serve Allah why are you fighting Christians instead of promoting Allah? Instead of defending Allah you focus on Jesus, why? It's because He is truly the main focus of our lives because deep down in your heart you know that ONLY HE IS THE TRUE LIVING GOD. Be careful not to use God's Name in vain, Exodus 20:7 forbids it. Lord Jesus Christ is coming back everyone, please don’t worship celebrities and entertainment, focus on Him alone. I promise there’s more to life than money, partying, homosexuality and music. Hell is real, repent from sinning confess your sins and ask God to forgive you, I know He will if you’re sincere. Hell is very hot, people please repent! In the mighty name of Lord Jesus Christ, Amen 🙏💪✝️💜❤️✝️! Idolatry such as, Islam, Catholicism, Sangomaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Racism, Santa Clausism, Confucianism, New Age, Science, Evolution, halloweenism, Harry Potterism, Politics, Donald Trumpism, Easter Bunnyism and other religions/faiths that are outside Biblical Christianity lead to hell! Don’t believe them, believe the Almighty God the Father of Lord Jesus Christ, who begot Him. Our Creator, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is mighty, He doesn’t need a woman to beget a son, He is God. I choose to put my faith in a God who can do anything and everything, a God who has unlimited and infinite power to beget! So, it’s time to confess that Lord Jesus Christ is the Lord and to believe that He died and rose from the grave after three days and you shall be saved if you only obey Him by praying, worshipping, praising, reading the Bible and living holy and righteously according to the Bible. You have to endure until the end, carry your cross daily and build your relationship with God by following Lord Jesus daily until the end. You must never renounce your faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, there’s hell awaiting those who reject/deny Lord Jesus Christ and those who continue living sinfully, even the Christians who don’t want to repent will face the same fate, so please repent beloved people, in Lord Jesus Christ’s mighty and precious Name, Amen.

Why Head Automatica never became either a) and over night sensation or b) a multi-platinum selling band that would have made it's repsective members overnight millionaires: *1: Too soon, because right after Head Automatica called it a day, Fits & The Tantrums hit it big time. Same sound, same style, same aesthetic, and what was "too early" a time for Head Automatica, was "just right" for Fitz & The Tantrums.* *2: Wrong "scene" to market it too, and the A&R at Warner Bros. realized this when it was too late. This band, and sound, were meant for a whole different crowd of listeners. Not the "alternative" crowd of MTV and Fuse.*

also: 3) "decadence" was too much genre-diverseful to target specific audience 4) touring with bands playing different music styles ("People struggled to define Head Automatica, which led to them being lumped in with the artists they toured with, like The Used and Taking Back Sunday (...) 'I was pretty disconnected with all that so touring with those bands was far out. We were very different than that type of music' says Daryl") 5) frequent show cancelling due to daryl's chrohn's disease

Daryl used to pull double duty ( he may still) and play with glassjaw and head automatica. Dude is an unbelievable talent. Old school Long island bands were awesome!
