To add to this - In a fight you have to accept that you are going to get tagged or hurt to some degree. Doing contact sparing will help with getting over the shock of being hit etc. Plenty of fights are lost due to the initial shock of being hit. Especially if its the first time (non-contact martial artist practitioners are big culprits of this. They know the moves etc then they get hit hard in the face and all composure and learnt skils etc just go out of the window).
