I might sound cringe since I’m 20, but thank you for these training videos man, I been getting harassed by some guys for a while now since I’m an easy target, and these vids have been helping create my stance and my movement and the correct way to punch a lot better in case I have to physically protect myself, I wish I could take personal classes from you man, thank you Michael.

Hey Michael. I am a huge fan. From Spawn, to Undisputed, Mortal Kombat, Blood and Bone, and Falcon Rising your fight scenes are always a sight to see. I just wanted to ask if your techniques include drive. I see that you are holding, turning, and following through, but I wonder if there is any emphasis in moving the body forward, with ones weight rather than scooting or physically propelling oneself forward, as well as incorporating rotations of the joints to build up power channeled to the fist for a blow.

@jowltrades4 жыл бұрын

@kevionrogers26054 жыл бұрын
In Karate and Taekwondo color belts symbolizes where in the curriculum you are and quantity of time spent training. While in Judo there is a competition component attached to the color belts along with curriculum. In Brazilian Jiujitsu it's about time and success in competition.
Really like the focus on fundamental body movement and technique. Shame I can't find video of MJW actually fighting. Not that he can't, I guess he'd be great, but it's like seeing a good-looking car without seeing it really pushed in real-world conditions on the track.

Kyokushin (極真) is a style of stand-up fighting and was founded in 1964 by Korean-Japanese Masutatsu Oyama (大山倍達, Ōyama Masutatsu). "Kyokushin" is Japanese for "the ultimate truth". It is rooted in a philosophy of self-improvement, discipline and hard training. Kyokushin training consists of three main elements: technique, forms, and sparring. These are sometimes referred to as the three "K's" after the Japanese words for them: kihon (basics), kata (Imaginary forms of Fight), and kumite (sparring In most Kyokushin organizations, hand and elbow strikes to the head or neck are prohibited. However, kicks to the head, knee strikes, punches to the upper body, and kicks to the inner and outer leg are permitted. Tournament fighting under knockdown karate rules is significantly different as the objective is to down an opponent. Full-contact sparring in Kyokushin is considered the ultimate test of strength, endurance, techniques and spirit. Aliveness, also referred to as alive training describes martial arts training methods that are spontaneous, non-scripted, and dynamic. Alive training is performed with the intent to win, rather than for mastery or demonstration purposes as in regular sparring, where victory is not an option. Aliveness has also been defined in relation to martial arts techniques as an evaluation of combat effectiveness. Alive training imparts a sense of fluidity and spontaneity; Alive drills do not follow set patterns, and are designed to seamlessly transition from one drill to the next. Students also learn to deal with the physical pain and stresses involved in combat situations requiring high levels of exertion. Sparring and competitions in Kyokushin Karate and Sanshou in Chinese martial arts are examples of alive practice. Also known as Goshin Jitsu, the specific self-defense techniques of the style draw much of their techniques and tactics from Mas Oyama's study of Daitō-ryū Aiki-jūjutsu under Yoshida Kotaro en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyokushin en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aliveness_(martial_arts)
