Meth sores. Anxiety is a common excuse for meth sores because it explains picking, irrational behavior, being jittery, etc. The chemicals from meth that come out through your skin can cause a lot of issues for children if it comes in contact with them. Rashes, sores, and sometimes they can test positive for meth if there are somewhat large amounts of fluid excreted and spread. That's their main cause of concern. especially, since one of the kids got a rash after a visit. They should have drug tested him/her. It's really sad.

For those who don't know the US cannot take custody of ANY children who have family like grandpa registered in a tribe in fact if grandpa was that tribe can take the children and be the guardian's and then if rights are terminated the tribe gets the kids. And there is nothing CPS can do. We'll all be back here for the termination of parental rights. I wonder if the US can even severe their rights or if that has to be done by the tribe if they acknowledge the kids?

Only if the tribe agrees to take the case. My coworkers and I have worked more than a few cases where the tribe admits the child as a member, but declines to be a party to the case. They reserve the right to step in and take over at any time. It's the tribe's prerogative whether to get involved or not.

i doubt they actually have membership. he would've gotten a blood quantum card at birth and enrolled in the tribe. the tribe are sovereign and could still deny someone membership if they did extensive research and blood testing. but since these are meth heads and the families dont even want the kids i doubt any of it matters hence why the lady was wondering why should they waste time when they did it for the moms first kid and nothing came up

I have the anxiety disorder that causes picking & I think she is lying. I mostly go after my face, arms & legs. There have been times my legs or arms were completely covered. Its also not something that happens all the time, I do have breaks where I don't have anything. It usually starts as an allergic reaction (I'm allergic to the world) & I just can't leave it alone. I have been diagnosed since I was a child. My mom would cut my nails thinking it would stop me. It didn't. My kids never once ended up with a rash or anything from being near me. I'm also really good about keeping what I can covered when I can. It's not easy & I struggle bad when I'm dealing with a flair up. The regret I feel is a whole nother story. This mom is on Meth.

Excoriation disorders- (dermatillomania and trichotillomania specifically) are both self picking disorders that could cause sores and the picking that cause then. Just wanted to make sure that an alternative cause was represented for the picking. Because sometimes its not drugs.
@janessap1739
@janessap1739 Жыл бұрын
As per the sores…if it is indeed not the anxiety disorder the mom says it is, which it could be (just not sure I buy it tho- especially if she has used meth as her primary drug, but…)then yes, using meth can def cause those sores from itching & picking, rinse, repeat… But smoking crack? Rarely does that cause those or any other body/face sores. I’m a PT substance abuse counselor for about 15 years now, & Ive only seen a couple of addicts who used crack as their DOC & ever had sores anything like meth addicts get or even anything close. Crack is not body addictive like meth or heroin, or not too much, thus it doesn’t cause the phantom skin itches, the anxiety-caused skin picking, or the sensation of ‘bugs’ crawling under the skin, etc…not to say it can’t happen, but crack & meth are quite different drugs & on top of that, they don’t affect ppl all the same way. For many reasons. Just offering info here is all. Peace ✌🏻 😊

Thanks for another whopper, OnTropolis! Well, he knows his grandpa was a member of a tribe "because of things he had up in his house". What he doesn't know is that Walmart sells Native American-style rugs & linens & "art". I'll bet neither of them has any true NA blood. If they want to claim that to benefit themselves, then they should have to know more about the family's NA ancestry. Defo drug+, why else refuse to test? I thought meth sores as soon as they started talking about them, then I thought maybe scabies or impetigo, then when the December drug test results were discussed I was back to meth sores. I just want to love up all the children who have horrible parents like these.

Absolutely is, which is also caused from picking from anxious behavior. She’s exact in what she’s saying, and she may have picked her bumps and scabs and such as a kid but it’s likely heightened tremendously by the meth. Meth doesn’t necessarily cause the sores, they’re from picking and symptoms caused by the use of it. It also makes extremely it hard to take notice to other possible bug bites or contagious skin conditions like bed bugs, fleas, scabies..I’m glad they raised the issue and made her aware. Even if it is meth sores and not contagious, it’s holding her responsible as a mother when visiting her kids.

So I really wonder if they're telling the truth about the native American ancestry. The reason that a lot of people might hope for that lineage in a situation like this is because that's when the tribunal could step in and take custody of the child and CPS nor American laws can Trump that. Tribunals want native American children to stay within the tribe. Children would not be adopted out. Those parents would be taken into the reservation and given help and there's really no law in America that can supersede that. Go take a gander at the Indian child welfare act.

Most tribes you only have to be 1/16th in order to be able to claim benefits. Lots of people at 6.25% don't look native. Most families in America have always claimed native American ancestry. But I have seen people with are as much as 20% verified with a DNA test who have light eyes, pale skin and freckles, and had no idea until a DNA test was taken. I cannot help but think after looking at their Facebook's that they are just bummy immature people and their DNA has never been verified.

I just recalled one of the first cases i reviewed for disability entailed an older woman was so certain she had parasites that she picked them off her body and saved them in baggies. She would take baggies packed full of skin flakes and scabs to her dr! No drugs. Just nutty as a fruitcake. 😳

@ruthlys I worked for a primary care physician. I worked in the lab as a microbiologist, so when someone would come in complaining of parasites, microscopic bugs, or alien implants, I would have to examine the contents of those horrific baggies under a microscope. Its actually dirty meth that does that to the skin. Well produced meth will not have that kind of effects on the skin unless they twerk on skin. Chemicals are crystallizing and comes like little spikes so small and unseen they pick and pick until they sores become ulcers from dirty fingers digging skin.

Meth heightens her anxiety, and she’s constantly touching them with her dirty fingers, making it impossible for them to heal. Meth doesn’t come out of the sores themselves, Unless you are referring to an injection site. She could use Hydrocolloid Band-Aids, they make them in small circles the size of a sore, for just this purpose. It would keep bacteria out giving them a chance to heal. It’s all very sad😞

I have a history of dermatillonmania or excoriation disorder. It is an anxiety disorder similar to trichotillomania. However, that is without substance use. Since she is testing positive for meth she doesn't have that diagnosis. She has a substance use disorder that supersedes anxiety disorder. If she gets clean and is still picking then that's a legitimate diagnosis. Just not at this time.

I’ve watched many CPS cases that included a representative for Native Americans. They generally agree with the CPS department or have no opinion. There have been news stories about heart wrenching cases of children being moved after years with a single caregiver or family, but I haven’t seen that play out in any of the cases on Zoom . The parents seem to think it will benefit them in some way. It might change their children’s living status, but I don’t think it will help their custody status , as the parents.

I have the Same Exact issue as her. I've had anxiety since childhood and I am a picker because of it. But it's only if I end up with some kind of scab that came from an injury. I don't actually just pick my skin into gross sores. But, unfortunately, I will have the same scab for months straight cuz I can't stop picking at it and let it heal properly. One summer, I legit looked like a junkie because I was getting bit by mosquitoes all over my legs and arms and I was scratching and picking at them so bad that they would end up scabbing and then I would pick them and pick them constantly so I would joke around to people that I swear I'm not a junkie LOL!

The thing that state gov'ts refuse to do is pay for long term rehab. For drugs like meth & opioids, a minimum of 90 days is needed. 180 would likely raise the chances of success. Most states will not pay for more than 14-30 days.

I couldnt care for him n use without him suffering. I know how hard it can be. The biggest mistake people make is tryin to hold on to the friends they used with. All they will do is try to take you down with them. I hope for the kids and their sake they get clean. Every child needs their parents, n no child should have to be in 2nd place to drugs or anything

@OnTropolis
@OnTropolis 11 ай бұрын
There's a specific act for children of native heritage. ICWA (Indian child welfare act) and there are requirements for CPS cases or guardianships when a child has a tribal connection. The tribe has the right to be involved in the process to ensure that culturally appropriate things are taking place for any child removed from the parents. I have a few videos with ICWA involvement and find them quite interesting.
