I am 6’3, 138kg Massively out of shape. My shots are mixed between topspin and flat. Since picking up the pro I am super consistent with great power. When I was playing with the MP before I had to really torque the racquet to keep the ball in.

I agree, as a flat / medium-spin player, I found the MP very 'launchy' but very easy to spin as well (too easy?), and not really suitable to my game. I too bought the Pro and think it's a great racquet for me; decent power, control, comfort and can also get moderate to medium spin; good for volleys and serves but putting spin on serves takes effort. Downsides; needs good stroke mechanics and average looks imo. But I like it a lot.

Tennis Guy, I'm a 3.8-4.0 senior singles player: One- handed backhand, moderate racquet head speed, good touch and slice, mostly flat, some TS..Some say I should go with the Pro because I hit flat. However, others say that the Pro is too advanced for my level, and I should go with the MP... Your insight/ recommendation would be greatly appreciated!
@CzechTennisGuy2 жыл бұрын
Hi John, because you are a senior player, you should go with the MP. It's a very good racket, used by many advanced players and juniors. It has everything you need. Works great on flat shots, with very nice blend of control and easy power. The Pro version is really too demanding, even for me when I'm not in shape. So you should have a racket, that is little bit forgiving. We are not pro's who practise every single day so at times when you don't feel your best, it's good to have a racket that will make you struggle little bit less and help you to overcome obstacles. That's the MP version for sure. Or, you might try Boom Pro - yes, Pro. Because Boom Pro is actually very forgiving, but at the same time it is precise, crisp and clean. So maybe try Speed MP / Boom Pro for yourself. Probably I would recommend you rather the Boom Pro if you hit clean with the smaller headsize, you will benefit from it very much.

Played with the MP yesterday. The grommet slot going so down in the throat area bothered me on the 1-handed backhand. Excellent frame to hit the 2-handed-backhand, even better than the Boom Pro here. Maybe the best sounding racket I've played so far. I would put some weight on the handle and at 3-9.

It's probably the most universal MP in the Heads line. If someone is asking me which racket to buy for every type of tennis, I'm recommending the Speed MP. It feels neutral and allows you to play agressive tennis and defense together.

@@CzechTennisGuy my only issue was the 1-handed backhand. Apart from the reason I already said, it felt a bit slow (or too big) to swing. But, for 2-handed backhand it was great. Amazing review! I have a question if you have time. I am ready to order a new racquet tomorrow but unfortunately I am still stuck in between 2 options, one would be the Speed MP and the other the Ezone 100. The strings I will use will be Wilson NXT multifilament. My level is beginner to Intermediate. My height is 194cm and 105kg. I play a lot from the baseline very agressive, extreme eastern grip and I hit more flat shots than with spin, and i also need a racquet to help me with my server as well because this is my weakspot! My shots are powerful and fast and I use top spin, slice, kick, (all effects) and I don't want a racket that gives me a flat backhand, I want to flex my wrists on the backhand. I think this racket would be the correct option, or maybe the Head Extreme tour 2022 helppp

@CzechTennisGuy2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Head Velocity could work for the Speed MP at some higher tension like from 25-27 kg (55-60 lb). Also it depends on the thickness. For durability and control use 1.30 mm. For better feel and spin go with 1.25 mm.

New pro version has more open string pattern then last model, can you check if older versin to see if True....also pro versin plays better with softer thinners gauge n lower tension
@CzechTennisGuy2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I can't check it so I'm not sure about it. Maybe it's true a that's also the reason why the racket feels like it has more free power compared to the previous two generations with Graphene 360/+ . The pro version definitely plays better with thinner gauge and softer strings to compensate the 18x20 string pattern.

Yonex vcore pro 100 or Head speed 100 mp? Which one do you prefer?
@CzechTennisGuy2 жыл бұрын
This is a tough one. For my style of play, probably the Speed MP is little bit better, because I'm more used to the traditional oval head shape compared to the square head shape and I like the overall feel of this racket. But this is all about practice. The transition to the Vcore Pro 100 takes some time, but if you prefer more aggressive style of play, the Vcore Pro 100 feels like it has more to offer for the pure attacker with hard shots. Feels more stable and more control oriented.

95 isn't dead, yet. Yonex vcore 95 and Dunlop cx200 tour. The Dunlop in 18x20 and 16x19. I love the cx200 tour 18x20 the most of all rackets i have tried. The width of that Dunlop is wider than the head prestige 98 18x20. So depending on the shape of the head it doesn't feel small at all.
@CzechTennisGuy2 жыл бұрын
I think that most top players use 97-100 inch2 rackets nowadays so I meant it from that perspective. The professional game is too fast for 95 inch rackets today. At the amateur level, it may be different, because we have more time for shots so we can actually benefit from the smaller headsize a lot more. I would love to test the Dunlop rackets in the future as they look like a hidden gem that is on the similar level like Head Prestige and Pro Staff rackets.
@LarzB2 жыл бұрын
@@CzechTennisGuy the cx200 tour really is a hidden gem, but only if you know how to customize it to your liking. Base swing weight of my 3x cx200 tour 18x20 were around 314, which is really too low for a 95 inch head size. But a perfect start for customization. A 325+ swing weight is the minimum for those rackets
@CzechTennisGuy2 жыл бұрын
@@LarzB 314 is really low for this headsize. Looks like a great racket to customize. It is also very flexible with 62 RA. It will be very whippy. It looks similar to the Prestige Tour, but the Dunlop rackets have wider head shape in the mid section for better spin and bigger sweetspot as you mentioned. Need to get hands on one of these.
@LarzB2 жыл бұрын
@@CzechTennisGuy exactly, but to temper some expectations: the cx200 tour doesn't give any power for free from the frame. Power can only be acquired by increasing swing weight and lowering string tension. It also is not the spin monster like a babolat aero, but the razor thin beam small head and fairly wide sweet spot makes it a razor through the air for good vertical head speed and spin. Everything else is just fantastic in the right custom. Mine are 332 swing weight, 31,0 balance and static weight close to 350, which makes these sticks monster frames. For the best compromise get the 16x19, for the best control the 18x20 I also have other rackets in my bag that i like: gravity pro, synergy 98, ezone 98, extreme tour, vcore duelg 97 and others..

There is a big difference between these two rackets. The Prestige Tour 2021 (previously called Pro) is a 95 inch headsize and 315 g unstrung weight. SW is 338. Overall power and stability of this racket is higher, precision will be also a little bit better due to the smaller head, although it's a 16x19 pattern. Gravity Tour will be easier to play with and more forgiving, with more free power. Precision is also very good for this headsize due to the 18x20 string pattern, but will be little bit worse compared to the Prestige Tour. Hi Jorge and thank you for your comment. The MP versions of Head rackets are basically great for any male player. I believe you can handle it very well without getting in too much trouble. The benefits of the higher weight are greater than the side effects. Especially for doubles you will notice the extra stability and power. Usually the doubles have significantly shorter rallies so you will have no problem to control the racket during the whole match. Especially the new Speeds feel little bit easier to handle than the previous generations, feel faster and easier to control. Comfort is very good and you will gain more power. Maybe you will struggle with the racket during longer singles, but you will get use to it. If I can handle it with my 67 kg, you will be perfectly ok. Go for the MP and enjoy it. One more extra tip from me. Buy the racket with a grip 2 and add one overgrip. You will gain more feel and the racket will be more control oriented.
