For me, the Eagle made more sense when we purchased a month ago. We looked at North Point, Pinnacle, and Eagle mid bunks as my wife had her mind set on a particular floor plan for our twin infant twin boys and us. 1) I already had a new Denali 3500 SRW 2) I wanted to avoid needing a dually because of garage space/etc. The Eagle was a sweet spot for weight and bang for buck. It wasn't about the money; it was about weight and tow vehicle capability. This video helped me drop the machismo of wanting the NP/Pinnacle. Thanks Josh. I should have called you guys. NEXT TIME.

Every RV has some sort of high points. We provide all sorts of information on the brands we carry here while it's up to other agents to provide information on their offerings. By comparing to in-house offerings I can be very fair and candid. When I compare to something we don't have it only feels one-sided and bias -- not the type of good information I prefer to provide.

11:04 do either or both offer a 12V Compressor Fridge option like most of the travel trailers seem to have these days? Obviously you’d lose some cubic storage space but I wonder if they can even fit into such a larger space (maybe there will be some added side pantry storage like I think I saw in another video, not sure which brand that was).
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
The larger fifth wheels haven't generally adopted 12v yet, but likely only due to the fact larger RV-capable 12v fridges haven't been widely available. Main industry suppliers are basically still be developing them. As soon as they do... I'm going to be all over it.

Josh once again your detail is spot on. I think I remember hearing if you buy a Jayco from dealer "A" dealer "B" is required to service it under warrenty if there is a problem - is that true? Also not to bash any other brand but have you thought of doing a comparison of sorts betwen brands you don't carry? There's Grand Design, Keystone has brands you don't sell and so on. Just trying to get a real world view of the 5th wheel market before dropping the hammer. Keep the great work flowing to us consumers it's great!
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
Jayco's dealer agreement does require all dealers to service a customer. It doesn't include any sort of requirements for turn around time, however, which some dealerships will try to twist around. And some will still flat out refuse work which makes me want to flip a desk I only provide information on brands we handle here. Plenty of brands have great features, but it's up to their representatives to share those points. If they cannot, then either the product does not compare well or the team members themselves may not be worth trusting your hard earned money on a major purchase.

I enjoy your videos and the product information they provide. The Eagle is a good trailer however they need to increase the ccc for me to consider. The plus for the Northpoint is the ability to order with disk brakes and the shower with a seat. One item that manufacturers need to address is to add, as an option, grab rails or provide blocking for the owner to install grab rails in the shower. If you want to keep camping in your 70's a solid grab is a welcome accessory.

Another great video in the comparison series. You mention in this video and others that Haylett is a BattleBorn dealer. Having watched multiple videos from full-time KZbinrs regarding their various solar and lithium installations I think it would be great to hear the perspective of an installer/dealer like Haylett. Factory install vs. dealership, solar panel sizes, battery sizes, charge controllers, battery monitors, where things can be installed in different types of trailers, etc. Or whatever else the team at Haylett can think of. I know there is short video overview from about a year ago with Aaron but was hoping for something more in depth. I recognize solar is very specific to each individual owner so it may not be possible. Finally, could a solar-lithium install from Haylett be rolled into the finance package of a purchase?
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
I've thought about how to go about this a few times, but the trick with solar it's it's NOT a "one size fits all" kind of thing. Rather.. it's 100% "What size fits you?" So there's no direct way to really address the topic other than to make a video saying "I don't know how much solar you need so call us?" Which feels like I'm just annoying people LOL *FINANCING:* Any accessory (batteries included) can be included as part of a financed purchase. But understand lenders have ceiling limits on RV purchases & going a little too crazy may risk your loan's approval. Whenever possible I ALWAYS recommend covering accessories out of pocket & financing as little as possible.
@l.alanwild54684 жыл бұрын
@@JoshtheRVNerd About halfway through typing my comment, I figured it would be an almost impossible task because of the individuality of each solar setup. But I went with "it can't hurt to ask" because if anyone could do it I thought you could. Maybe you will get the opportunity to film some solar installations and put them out as examples of what can be done. Thanks for the response about financing, great information. Looking forward to the next video as always.

Question on eagle, hot water heater is 6 gallons across every Floorplan or do they get bigger with a bigger floorplan?
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
6gal vessel is all you'll find on an Eagle. It's one of those "lines" between NP and Eagle Funny thing is it's not actually significantly smaller in function vs. a NP with a 10gal water heater which sounds wrong I know 6gal fast recharge water heater on an eagle = just shy of 18 gallons of hot water recharged per hour 10gal fast recharge water heater on a NP = Just shy of 22 gallons of hot water recharged per hour They replenish at the same rate. The only difference is just the initial capacity.

Eagle does not offer a heat pump option nor does it offer Sanicon now (though it had in the past). Those remain "North Point Features" essentially

I had a difficult time deciding between the two as well (only a 355MBQS rather than the 357MDOK). We opted for the Eagle because we liked the extra kitchen storage the 355MBQS offers over the North Point. The mid bunk room door in the kitchen really kills storage space!

I was in an Eagle recently and noticed that the Theater Seating had no power, lights, heat, or massage. Is this the norm because I don't see that as an option? When I explain Jayco 5th wheels, I use GM as my example. Eagle would be the Chevrolet, Buick is North Point, Pinnacle is Cadillac. Now I'm an Eagle HT guy cause I have a fishing boat I like to take with me. People always ask me, if I have a boat, why not buy a motorized rv? My answer is simple, when I have to take the boat out of the water, i would have to break camp to do it. If I need to go somewhere on an emergency, I'd have to break camp again. With the 5th wheel, its parked and my truck is the chase vehicle. My favorite floorplan was the HT 27.5RLTS, but it looks like that layout has been "modified" with a new designation.
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
The 1-2-3 way you've lined that up is *exactly* on point. You got them figured out! :) 27.5RLTS is slated to receive that revised front end which I'm personally a fan of. North Point having 6-point Hydraulic leveling system is cool. After watching the whole video, I've come to the best for Me. Because I don't Travel(pretty much at all), I'd pick the North Point for Me. I haven't seen the Interiors on these much, but Technically North Point makes more sense for Me. Good ones. Thanks.

I had a LOT of content recorded & hadn't been able to get to it. I finally got a bunch of it processed & didn't want to mass-burst stuff onto people.

@@JoshtheRVNerd ok, I’ll wait, you are on our short list for a 355mbqs to be ordered in a month or so. Any idea why eagles no longer offer the sanicon system? I was really pumped (sorry) when they had it last year!!

@@rhettharrelliii9082 lolol -- more puns. Never enough :) Here's the reason why a MFG does or doesn't do/include anything: It either helps sell the RV or it doesn't. That's it. It's no more complicated. Sanicon is an awesome feature. Unfortunately, not enough dealers presented its benefits to clients. Jayco didn't receive enough orders for the feature. So it was phased out. MFGs don't set the market. They just reflect it like that.

Josh, you always accomplish what you set out to do. I am one of your target buyers for these Jaycos. I like both rigs alot. I can see a new Ford F-150 Powerboost with the 7.2 KW generator hooked up to an Eagle (just because of the weight limits). Hopefully, the money I save buying the Eagle will help pay for the Powerboost. Josh, what do you think?
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
I need to learn more about the Powerboost feature. Right now it's all I can do to even keep up with the RV market let alone all the new stuff coming from the auto industry lol

I wish there was a way to get all of the upgraded functionality of the north point without the unnecessary fancy pants stuff. Something that a dirty construction worker will have a hard time getting dirty, but not create additional work.
