Faith restored So you’re saying there is no place in this world for humor of any sort? Surly you’ve laughed at something in your life. Perhaps you’ve even told a joke or two. This is clearly dark humor. You know it’s funny because of how insanely wrong and ridiculous it would have been for someone to say the things they said in this skit. I think that’s perfectly punctuated by the use of the word “homie” here. Also, without your comment, I never would have known I got a thousand plus thumbs up. Guess I’m an internet legend now! Time to start a streaming on Twitch and Tik Tok! But on a serious note, the root of this joke is that we as Americans, some descended from puritanical settlers, have a hard time talking about and respecting the role sex has as a part of our lives and a healthy relationships. It shouldn’t be disgusting and shouldn’t be depraved. That way of thinking would certainly be a reason Pete’s character can’t talk to his wife, Goodie Charity, about the sexual aspect of their relationship.

Johnny Depp as Ichabod was a great casting choice in that. But I'm curious as to which one is more faithful: The movie (the horseman is trying to claim his head back) or the skit (he's forced to carry around his head for eternity).
@masterofallgoons4 жыл бұрын
@@trickytreyperfected1482 - Kind of both and neither ... In the story he's riding in search of his head, but Ichabod also sees him carrying a severed head on his lap, which he throws at Ichabod. But the next day the townspeople only find a smashed pumpkin, and it's inferred that his town rival Brom Bones faked the whole thing. So, it's both and neither, sorta.

@@masterofallgoons oh, I think that's actually covered in the movie like right as Ichabod starts investigating.
@masterofallgoons4 жыл бұрын
@@trickytreyperfected1482- Sort of. The movie gives a little more of a background the the Headless Horseman than the original story does. I absolutely love the movie, but it has very little to do with the story. Ichabod and the other characters are quite different than the original story describes, and the plot has nothing to do with the source story. It's worth reading, and it's not long. I'm sure you can find it online for free since it's in the public domain. Also, the Disney animated short from the 50s is probably the most faithful and accurate adaptation just as far as maintaining the basic story goes. It's also a great work of animation and Burton drew some inspiration from that aesthetic for the movie.
